The Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park will be having general elections for their mayors and council members on Saturday.

Both HP and UP residents can vote in their city elections from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 12 at Highland Park Middle School.

The Town of Highland Park has two candidates, Sam C. Tamborello and Joel Williams, running for the position of mayor. Highland Park has five candidates running to fill five Town Council seats, and they are Andrew Barr, Will C. Beecherl, Bob Carter, Laurence W. Nixon and Stephen Rogers.

The City of University Park has five candidates running to fill four City Council positions, and they are Bob Begert, Bob Clark, Raquel Ibarra, Dawn Moore, and Tommy Stewart. Current University Park Mayor Dick Davis is running unopposed for his same position.

The results of the University Park election will be posted on the City's homepage by 8 p.m. on Saturday, said Steve Mace, the UP Community Information Officer.
