Tanya Foster wearing Avara black dress and jean jacket in Palm Beach

Let’s be honest—when it comes to travel, choosing the right shoes can make or break your trip. Whether you're exploring a new city, rushing through the airport, or heading out to dinner after a long day of sightseeing, you need shoes that are stylish, versatile, and most importantly, comfortable.

Over the years, I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way!) which shoes are worth packing and which ones are better left at home. Today I’m sharing my must-have travel shoes—pairs I personally wear and trust to keep my feet happy and my outfits chic, no matter where I’m headed.

What Makes a Great Travel Shoe?

Before I dive into the list, here’s what I look for in a good travel shoe:

  • All-day comfort

  • Chic, elevated style

  • Support for walking

  • Neutral tones for outfit versatility

  • Lightweight and easy to pack

Now let’s get into my go-to pairs that always make it into my suitcase.

Best Shoes for Traveling

1. Tod's Driving Penny Loafers

Tanya Foster wearing mother hustler jeans, tod loafers, cuyana wrap and talbots perfect shirt

These loafers are the holy grail of stylish travel shoes. The leather is buttery soft, and the classic design works with everything from jeans to dresses. They’re chic enough for a nice dinner and comfy enough to wear all day. If you’re going to Europe, these are a must-pack. These shoes are worth the investment, but I also love this pair as a similar version for under $100.

Why I love them: They elevate even a simple travel outfit and they mold perfectly to your foot over time. Think airport chic meets timeless European style.

Tanya Tip: Go for a neutral color like beige or blush—you'll get the most outfit versatility. But I also own them in turquoise and black suede and wear each pair for traveling.

2. Chanel Ballet Flats

Tanya Foster in Ming Wang dress with luggage wearing chanel ballet flats

A timeless staple that I always bring along when I want a polished look without packing heels. Chanel ballet flats add instant elegance to any outfit. They're surprisingly comfortable for walking and easy to slip on and off at airport security. Although they are an investment, I have found them to be worth it. The quality has lasted for years.

Where I wear them: Great for museums, lunches, and indoor activities where you want to feel pulled together but not overly dressed up.

Style it with: Cropped jeans, a trench coat, and a striped tee for that Parisian vibe.

3. Loeffler Randall Lace-Up Sandal

Tanya Foster at sunset in Palm Beach

If you're headed somewhere warm, these lace-up sandals are a beautiful option. The rich cognac color pairs beautifully with white, neutrals, and summer prints. They are so comfortable for all day wear and the lace-up style makes them easy to walk around in for hours. I love that they can be worn during the day with a sundress or dressed up for dinner.

Bonus: They pack flat, which is always a win!

Occasions to pack for: Cruise dinners, outdoor lunches, sightseeing, and date nights on vacation.

4. Adidas Campus Sneakers

Tanya Foster wearing Adidas Campus sneakers

You can never go wrong with a sleek, sporty sneaker. The Adidas Campus is a favorite for walking-heavy days. They’re supportive, go with practically everything, and have that cool-girl edge without being overly trendy.

Tanya Tip: I found these shoes in the children's department, so they were significantly less expensive and fit just as well as women's. For reference, I wear a size 8.5 women's and these shoes are a size 6 children's. If you're not sure about sizing, just buy two pair and return the pair that doesn't fit.

Where I wear them: Travel days, city sightseeing, casual daytime exploring. Above I wore them with this dress to explore a new destination on foot.

5. TKEES Sandals

Tkees sandals

TKEES are my go-to flip flops for beachy getaways or poolside lounging. They're sleek, minimalist, and take up almost no space in your luggage. I love the "Custard" shade for a neutral tone that works with everything. They are also perfect for getting a pedicure!

Bonus: They’re water-resistant and easy to clean—ideal for beach trips or casual strolls.

Where I wear them: Resort wear, by the pool, beach walks, or as a backup pair in your tote.

6. On Cloud Running Shoes

Tanya Foster wearing on cloud sneakers

On Cloud shoes are perfect for days when you're really on the move—think long travel days, airport dashes, or days packed with walking tours. They're lightweight, breathable, and supportive. A great option if you want a sneaker that feels sporty but still looks streamlined.

Style it with: Joggers and a denim jacket or jeans and a blouse. I've even worn them with a casual sundress for warmer days.

Why I pack them: You never know when you’ll need something athletic but cute. Also great if you’re planning to hit the hotel gym.

7. New Balance Lifestyle Sneakers (327 or 574)

Tanya Foster wearing new balance sneakers

These sneakers have become such a fashion-forward staple. I love the retro styling, and they come in so many fun color combos. They’re a great option if you want something with a little more personality than your average sneaker.

Tanya Tip: Look for monochrome or pastel color ways for a more elevated travel look.

Best for: Travel days, brunch, casual shopping trips, and museums.

8. Loeffler Randall Heeled Sandals (for dressier occasions)

Tanya Foster wearing Sezane dress

If you have a special dinner or wedding on the itinerary, a low block heel like the Loeffler Randall heeled sandal is a great choice. They're walkable but still dressy, and they add a feminine touch to evening outfits. These kitten heels are another similar option for under $35. I have also been known to pack these espadrilles when traveling––especially if it's a beach-y vacation.

What I love: You can dance, dine, and walk in them without pain. That’s saying something for a heeled shoe!

Pair with: A maxi dress, a silky midi skirt, or even tailored pants and a blazer.

How Many Shoes Should You Pack?

Let’s be honest—I rarely stick to just three pairs of shoes when I travel. A girl needs options! While I do try to be strategic about packing, I usually bring at least four or five pairs to cover all my outfit needs. Packing tip: Put your shoes in fabric shoe covers to protect them.

Here’s what typically makes it into my suitcase:

  • 1 pair of loafers (Tod’s)
  • 1 pair of ballet flats (Chanel)
  • 1 lace-up sandal (Loeffler Randall)
  • 1-2 pair of white or neutral sneakers (Adidas, On Cloud, or New Balance)
  • 1 pair of flip flops or slides (TKEES)
  • 1 dressy heeled sandal for evening

That gives you enough variety for casual days, dressy nights, long walks, and relaxing in between without going overboard.

Tanya tip: I wear the bulkiest pair (usually sneakers or loafers) on the plane to save space in my luggage and always pack the rest in individual shoe bags to keep things clean and organized.

Bonus: Travel Shoe Tips

  • Break them in: Never travel with brand new shoes! Wear them around the house first.

  • Pack blister balm and Band-Aids just in case.

  • Use no-show socks for sneakers or loafers to avoid odors and blisters.

  • Bring a foldable tote or shoe bag to hold a backup pair during long days.

Final Thoughts

The right shoes can elevate your travel style and save your feet from long, painful days. I’ve curated this list based on personal experience. These are shoes I actually pack and wear when I travel. Whether you're planning a summer vacation, a European escape, or a weekend road trip, these picks will keep you comfortable and looking chic every step of the way.

Let me know what shoes you swear by for travel in the comments. I’m always looking to discover new favorites! xoxo - Tanya

Tanya and Pete in front of the Colosseum in Rome, Italy

If you're dreaming of a Mediterranean getaway that blends luxury, adventure, and a dash of high-speed excitement, then the SilverSea F1 Cruise throughout the Mediterranean is for you! Picture this: a 12-day voyage aboard the ultra-luxurious Silver Ray, stopping at iconic ports like Palma de Mallorca, Monte Carlo, Saint Tropez and Naples, with a front-row seat to the Monaco Grand Prix. While we took the 2025 voyage in May 2025, I'll link you to the 2026 itinerary, which is already available for booking. Sounds like a dream, right? Let's dive into the details!

Setting Sail: Barcelona to Rome

Tanya Foster with Captain of Silver Ray

Our journey began in the vibrant city of Barcelona. After a day of recovering from our flight and indulging in tapas for dinner, we boarded the beautiful Silver Ray the next day, ready to embark on an unforgettable Mediterranean adventure. Over the next 12 days, we visited 10 ports across four countries, each offering its own unique charm and allure. Did I mention the Monaco Grand Prix? Also, on this cruise we did something entirely new to us and quite challenging for Pete (because he would have to take directions.) We were asked to be the talent for SilverSea who were shooting for their social media content. So I held my breath when I accepted the assignment and it worked out just fine. The production team planned out our days for us, which we loved, and provided photography and videography experts to tell the story! So while I'll list our ports of call below, we were shooting video content not our own while showing off various excursions for this cruise. This will help future guests get a taste of what SilverSea has to offer. Does that make sense?

Travel Tip: I recommend arriving to your departure port city the day before the cruise departure in case you run into travel issues and to get over jet lag. Of course since you traveled all this way, you may want to explore the departure city too (highly recommended), so give yourself an extra day or more.

Itinerary Highlights, Ports of Call and Excursions

Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Ice cream in Spain

Our first port of call on this cruise was a visit to Palma de Mallorca. Stroll along the marina, sip on a café con leche, and enjoy the island's relaxed vibe. Optional excursions include visits to historic sites and scenic viewpoints. We spent the day shooting at a beautiful winery, which is an excursion option. Click HERE to see my Reel on Instagram to give you a little taste of the location. We thoroughly enjoyed shooting at the winery and watching Mario, our talented photographer, do his stuff, including getting drone shots of us and the scenery.

Valencia, Spain

Tanya and Pete Foster in Spain

Next, we went to Valencia, known for its futuristic architecture and delicious Paella. Explore the City of Arts and Sciences or relax on the sandy beaches. We had a great day exploring the market and had Paella at a local seaside restaurant. Click HERE and swipe through the pictures of our adventure in Valencia. We loved the Paella!  It's a traditional Valencian Spanish dish that is served in a giant frying pan-looking serving/cooking pan. Paella actually means frying pan in Castilian. It's a rice dish made with some vegetables and a protein like chicken, seafood or rabbit.  Yummy!!  No rabbits were harmed in our dish!!!

Cartagena, Spain

Tanya and Pete with SilverSea ship in background

In Cartagena, you can immerse yourself in ancient history with a tour of Roman ruins and the impressive National Museum of Underwater Archaeology. We loved exploring this beautiful city on our own. Don't miss the Roman ruins, they're quite well preserved! Click HERE to see the Reel of our day.

Marseille, France

Cooking class in Provence, france

Marseille offers a blend of French culture and Mediterranean charm. Visit the historic Old Port, sample local seafood, and enjoy panoramic views from the Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde. We spent that day shooting a lovely cooking experience and wine tasting which is one of the cruise's excursions offered in Marcelles. Here part of my cooking lesson included how to flambe a dish - without inflicting harm or property damage or shortening your hair. We also shot in a beautiful olive tree grove while picking wild poppies, which were in full bloom. Mario again did some drone photography which was fun to watch. Click HERE to watch me flambe some zucchini, which was part of the meal.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Tanya and Pete Foster at the 2025 Grand Prix Monaco

The highlight of your journey on this cruise (at least it was for us): the Monaco Grand Prix! Experience the thrill of Formula 1 racing with an overnight stay in Monte Carlo for the grandad of F1 races. We could just feel the adrenaline as the world's fastest cars zoom through the streets of this glamorous city-state. Our hearing will never be the same. This is an excursion that SilverSea offers and they have 3 packages. We chose the grandstand package which put us right in the middle of all the action in grandstand K. The Silver Ray kitchens even prepared us a picnic lunch to take to the race! Grandstand K is directly opposite yacht row, which is so fun! Dozens upon dozens of luxury yachts and beautiful people. We even saw Jeff Bezos yacht in the harbor!  Click HERE to get a first hand view of our seats! Since we had never done an F1 race before, we truly appreciated the guidance and VIP treatment by the cruise staff.  There were several races on Sunday, the day we attended, including an F2 and a Porsche race.  Did I mention how loud the car are?  Well, it's nothing compared to what happens when the F1 winner takes the victory lap...every yacht in the harbor toots it's horn.  Imagine 200 ships all blowing their horns at the same time with you in the middle.  You can't hear the cars anymore! Or anything else for that matter.

Saint-Tropez, France

Tanya and Pete Foster in St. Tropez

Saint-Tropez is synonymous with love, luxury and style. Wander through high fashion boutiques, relax on sun-kissed beaches, and perhaps spot a celebrity or two. Every, and I mean every, chic brand had a boutique here. Check out this Reel, where we spent the day shooting a Beach Club and indulging in a lovely lunch with wine. This is one of our favorite cities! The shopping is phenomenal. I'm absolutely loving this violet dress and it was perfect for Saint Tropez! The Beach Club we visited was so beautiful it made shooting quick and easy. So much so that our photographer had time for one of favorite lungo espressos. And the French cuisine was out of this world! If we had more time we could have gotten some sun at the beautiful private beach club with food and bar service from the restaurant, but work called!

Livorno (Tuscany), Italy

Truffle Hunting in Tuscany

Truffles

In Livorno, we explored the Tuscan countryside and shot the truffle hunt excursion. We shot this picture on the Livorno plaza which has a most interesting geometric design in the marble floor. It makes you dizzy just walking on it. With other available excursions you can visit Pisa's Leaning Tower, enjoy wine tasting tours, or simply savor authentic Italian cuisine in a charming trattoria. In our excursion, the shoot team booked us a private driver to enjoy and shoot an amazing Truffle Hunt experience. We hunted truffles with the cutest puppy. They don't find truffles with pigs anymore, who knew? This was by far our favorite (non-F1) excursion and we highly recommend it. We spent the day shooting pictures and video truffle hunting in the woods, finding several truffles. We came back to have a 4 course meal, all served with the fresh truffles we found. The desert course was a truffle chocolate ice cream Sundae, YUM! Thank you to Savini Tartufi and your precious dog for the incredible experience.

Naples, Italy

Tanya and Pete Foster onboard the Silver Ray

Naples is the birthplace of pizza, pasta and more. Dive into the city's rich history with a visit to Pompeii or enjoy a leisurely walk along Spaccanapoli, sampling local delicacies. Pete and I got to visit a church, flour mill and pasta making facility. We were given a lesson in making fusilli pasta by a cute Italian grandma pasta chef!  One of us got his knuckles wacked by grandma for not following directions - guess who. What a fun day - see the recap Reel HERE. Also, how fun to see Mount Vesuvius behind us and quietly dormant.  Mt. Etna erupted soon after we left Italy, but we didn't go anywhere near it on our cruise.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Tanya and Pete in front of the Trevi Fountain in Rome

Our journey concluded in Civitavecchia, the gateway to Rome. We then spent 2 days exploring the Eternal City, visiting landmarks like the Colosseum, Vatican City, and the Trevi Fountain. This was so fun to shoot for their content because we had a driver zip us in and out of all the famous locations. We really love Rome and it was so crowded because of the new Pope and the 2025 Catholic Jubilee, "Pilgrims of Hope". These jubilee celebrations only occur every 25 years. Click HERE to see a highlight Reel of what we saw. One of the highlights we enjoyed was when we shot in the private historic home of a famous Italian chef. He cooked exclusively for us. His house is on Tiber Island in the Tiber river. The bedroom opens to the soothing sound of the river and views of the oldest bridge in Rome and the basement dates back to 200 BC and has excavations from that period.

Tanya's Tip: Get up early to get ahead of the crowds if you want to get great photos of iconic locations. Our call time when we shot at the Trevi fountain was 6:30 AM and the fountain was already getting full of tourists!

Onboard Experience: Silver Ray

Tanya and Pete Foster on the bridge of the Silver Ray

Pool deck of the Silver Ray

Aboard the Silver Ray, expect nothing less than exceptional. This 700+ guest, all-suite, all-inclusive ship offers spacious accommodations, personalized service, and gourmet dining. Whether you're lounging by the pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or attending an enrichment lecture, every moment is designed for your comfort and enjoyment. Did you know that your suite comes with a personal butler who can offer a bevy of services? Click HERE to see our in room caviar and canape service. The restaurants are fabulous and if you click HERE, you will see the back terrace of La Terrazza, one of our favorites for dinner. SilverSea does have a dress code, which is no jeans, shorts, etc. after 6 PM. I wore this beautiful red dress for dinner and it was perfect.

The Captain of the Silver Ray is Giovanni Schiaffino and he was such a delight. We even got a personal tour of the bridge! The Silver Ray can host 728 guests and has a crew of 544 and was built in 2024, making it the newest ship in the fleet. SilverSea has a total of 12 ships in its fleet.

Tanya's Tip: Click HERE for my packing list. It was perfect for a 14 day trip. I wore every single piece of what I packed! I've linked them throughout this post as well.

Monaco Grand Prix: A Front-Row Seat

F1 tickets in Monaco

The Monaco Grand Prix is the crown jewel of Formula 1 racing. With SilverSea's exclusive cruise, you’ll have the opportunity to witness this prestigious event up close. Imagine cheering on your favorite driver as they navigate the challenging Monte Carlo circuit, all while enjoying the luxurious amenities of the Silver Ray. They make it so easy with guides to who escort you directly to your seating location.

Tips for Booking

Tanya Foster on the Silver Ray

  • Early Bird Advantage: Cabins for this exclusive voyage are limited and tend to sell out quickly. Booking early ensures you secure your preferred suite and take advantage of any early booking discounts.

  • Excursions: While the Monaco Grand Prix is the main attraction, each port offers unique excursions. Consider your interests—whether it's history, cuisine, or relaxation—when selecting your shore activities.

  • Travel Insurance: Given the exclusive nature of this cruise, investing in travel insurance is advisable to protect your investment.

Unique Father's Day gifts

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 15. You have a little over one week to get the man in your life a gift. Whether you’re shopping for your dad, son, father-in-law, grandfather, husband…  I’ve curated the perfect list for them all. Shop the photo above by clicking on the image or shop more of my favorite unique Father's Day gifts in the boutique below. Also, I have listed the top 10 best sellers from May, so be sure and scroll all the way through!

Unique Father's Day Gifts

It may not be one of the most unique Father's Day gifts, but a nice dress shirt is a really easy gift that never fails. Another classic option is a nice performance polo. Gift them with these versatile stretch performance shorts that can be worn to work, golf or even a summer BBQ. They come in several color options. Pair your gift with white sneakers or Sperry's and a belt to give him a complete look.

Tasc Performance also has many great clothing options for men all under $100. Both Pete and I love their products. Right now they're having a special Father's Day offer. Get a free hat with your purchase of $150+ with code HATSOFFTODAD. It's a one-stop shop for Father's Day!

I know that shopping for clothing for a man can be difficult. Sometimes they can be a little picky, so it's easier to gift them with unique items for everyday use. An Apple Watch or this leather watch band is a gift he will love. A nice wallet is another gift most men need, but won't buy for themselves. Every man also uses a razor, so a luxury razor set is a great gift idea. For some fun, throw in this 'man bar' soap and other luxury toiletries like cologne.

For the man who works from home, this temperature controlled mug will be his new favorite gadget. If he works from the office, a nice insulated lunch bag is another great gift. If he travels often, this weekend duffle bag is a great gift. This 6-in-1 adventure flask or this travel french press are also perfect for the traveler.

Now let's check out some fun options. A great dad-specific gift includes this 'Thank You, Dad' candle. I also love to give a gift of experience. This book gives you 100 things to do with dad that will make memories for a lifetime. Another unique gift idea is to give him framed wall art that matches his interests. He may also need the gift of relaxation, in which case, I recommend this massage gun. If he is a whiskey guy, this world decanter is a unique gift he can enjoy. And since it's summertime, a new swimsuit or outdoor patio furniture are other great ideas.

Happy Hump Day! I am still trying to get out of vacation mode. Pete and I traveled the majority of the month of May, so it may take a while for us to get back into the swing of things. Today I want to look back at our recent trip to the Dunmore Resort in the Bahamas (read all about our trip HERE) and look at what to pack for a week in the Bahamas. Not only that, I'll show you how I styled everything in my suitcase.

bahamas packing list

Soma pajamas and cabana life cover up and swimsuits

tanya foster wearing black avara midi dress with luggage

Before we begin let's talk a few packing tips. I do hang everything on the wardrobe rack (top picture) before I pack it. This helps me see how well things will mix and match. I don’t pack by occasions/outfits. I simply bring enough to wardrobe myself when I get there. The only exception to this is if I am attending a special event like a wedding. Another tip I use when traveling and checking a bag is to always pack a swimsuit, cover-up, pajamas, essentials toiletries and change of underwear in your carry-on (middle picture). That way, if your luggage gets lost or is delayed you can still enjoy your trip until your bag arrives.

Now about my travel look...I love to wear something that's beach ready so that I can go straight from the plane to the resort without changing. A black midi dress was perfect for my trip. It's also super comfortable! The best luggage for me is Tumi luggage. It’s large enough for a week long trip, but also small enough to carry on if need be. I just got this Tumi accent kit to make my luggage easily recognizable at baggage claim. We just look for the red accent pieces and we know its ours. What you don't see pictured is that I also packed the larger Tumi luggage. They all have four wheels so they are easy to navigate. I use my beach tote as a carry on as well. So to answer your question, I pack two suitcases and one beach tote bag for an entire week.

____

Hair Products

Wow anti frizz treatment and dphue color therapy

These are must-have products to keep my hair looking fresh in the beach climate. It's 100% humid in the Bahamas. This dpHUE color oil therapy keeps your hair moisturized and hair color looking fresh for between visits. This Color Wow anti-frizz treatment was a game changer to tame your hair in the humid Bahamas climate. I din't use any hair tools. Only these two products and a hair dryer.

Comfy Sleepwear

summer outfit inspiration fashion pieces

Let's talk summer outfit inspiration. Summer is here, which means lots of travel and outdoor events. I am definitely looking forward to lots of pool time, patio cocktails and dinners al fresco. We have some upcoming vacations, so planning my looks is a must. I've also included my summer bucket list. I would love to hear what's on your list this season.

Summer Outfit Inspiration

If you’re heading out to grab some much needed Vitamin D, the first must-have is a high-quality swimsuit. I love this printed one-piece swimsuit. It's such a cute print and flattering style. I linked more options below or read HERE for the best swimsuits of 2025. Just add this linen dress cover-up to take you to and from the pool or beach.

Summer means many dinners al fresco, so make sure you have something stylish, but lightweight and comfortable. This printed linen mini dress is both beautiful and comfortable. Plus, the print is so fun. Wear it with these wedges to complete your look. You also need a cute and casual look. These linen shorts are a must-have for summer time. They're so versatile and could be worn as a casual summer look or for an upscale, summer professional look. For a laidback summer look, pair them with this linen eyelet blouse and raffia tote for an everyday summer look.

Now for accessories…if you're planning many days poolside then flip flops, sunglasses, sunscreen and a fabulous hat are a must. Next, you’ll want at least one summer-inspired jewelry like these pearl seashell earrings. They are the epitome of summer!

If you're hosting this summer, you will need summer tablescape pieces. Something that I recommend are these lemon placemats. They're so cute and the epitome of summer. You will also need these shell linen cocktail napkins and these beaded tumblers. Cheers! Now you're ready for happy hour.

____

Tanya’s Summer Bucket List

1) Plan a weekend beach getaway – Think chic and charming, like Seaside, Rosemary Beach, or Palm Beach.

2) Host a patio happy hour – Complete with a signature summer cocktail and a lemon-themed tablescape.

3) Read two beach books – Preferably with a sunhat poolside. Next on my list is The Housemaid series.

4) Revamp my summer skincare routine – Lightweight products, glowing skin, and SPF always. I've listed some of my new favorite products here.

5) Visit a local blueberry farm for fresh-picked berries — Enjoy a relaxing morning outdoors picking seasonal blueberries to use in fresh recipes or simple snacks. Last summer I visited Ham Orchards and loved it, so this year I want to try Blueberry Hill Farms. I've heard they even have blueberry ice cream.

Best of May LTK Round-Up tanya foster

Tanya Foster holding Squashies

Howdy! Do you know what my current obsession is? Squashies! They are a gummy candy that has a softer, more marshmallow-y texture. Fun fact: I love gummy candy, and this brand may be my new favorite. I tried it after it blew up on the internet from being Taylor Swift's favorite candy. If you try it, let me know what you think!

So today let's look at my May LTK Round-Up. As always, be sure and follow me on LTK so you can get exclusive content. Some items sell out quickly and don't even make it to a blog post, so that is why I encourage you to follow me in the LTK app. In case you need help doing this, I detailed how to get the app and shop with me HERE. Ok now let's look at some current looks and products that I'm loving!

____

A must-have for summer is cute athletic wear. It's the easiest look to take you to run errands, a lunch date, to a workout, and more. This tennis dress is so flattering and the design is so chic. Memorial Day weekend vibes

Memorial Day is Monday so I’m sharing some fun red, white, and blue pieces for you to add to your wardrobe this summer. This weekend is a great time to stock up on summer essentials because there are so many great SALES. I’m sharing them in today's blog post with a full list, so be sure and scroll all the way through. Also, make sure and follow along with my LikeToKnowIt page all weekend long. This is where I will update and post my favorite sale items. Happy holiday weekend!

____

Memorial Day Weekend Style

Let's look at my top picks for summer. These white denim shorts are so cute and a great option for a longer short. Pair them with this striped collared blouse or this star button down shirt. This ruffle red blouse is another good option. If you're going to the coast or somewhere that can get chilly, then you'll want this Americana sweater. It's the perfect layer for summer. I wear mine all the time. Other great options are this flag sweater for under $65 and this flag sweater for under $30. These looks all go well with either shorts or white jeans. Check out more of my white jean picks in this post.

If you’re more of a dress gal like me, this denim sundress is so cute and perfect for an everyday summer look. I also love this striped shirtdress and this linen blend red midi dress for your weekend summer parties.

For some fun footwear, grab these white leather sandals. They also come in black and are the perfect chic, everyday sandal. You'll also need these buckle slide sandals in your summer wardrobe. I also love these slide sandals for a lower price point option. If you're going for a more sporty-chic look, these sneakers are perfect. You can really pair them with any summer look.

Don't forget about the accessories...red is a great color to add to your summer wardrobe for that pop of color you need. These red shell earrings are perfect for Memorial Day, July 4th, or any event you have this summer. I also love a gorgeous bag for summer, and this woven mini tote bag is too perfect.

If you're hosting a pool party then you'll need this paddle set and an inflatable pool float. You also need a cute swimsuit. This red ruched one-piece is super cute and so flattering. Just add sunglasses.

Have a great holiday weekend! We're taking Monday off so we will see you back here on Wednesday. Enjoy!

xoxo – Tanya

I have gotten so many requests for this post, so I am so excited to share the ways to tie your Hermès scarf! There are so many more ways than those listed today, but these are some of my absolute favorites. And it goes without saying, this blog post and scarf tie tutorial applies to any and all scarves. Today I am including 14 different ways to tie a scarf.

Now it seems obvious, but the first step to tying your Hermès scarf is to own one. Taylor got her first one last year and immediately called me to ask how she should style hers. In fact, this blog post happened because she requested it. Hermes scarves are available at all Hermès stores, or I have linked other scarf options below.

To help you even more, Hermès has an APP! Silk Knots is a great resource to watch videos on how to tie your scarf. You now have endless possibilities at your finger tips so that you can tie your scarf whatever suits your look and mood for the day. I love how easy it is! Ok, now let's take a look at some of my favorite and fun ways for how to tie your scarf. Some of these are so creative!

Also, all of the pictures of me above are from old blog posts. If you click the picture it will take you to the full post. It's funny to see my style evolve over the 11 years on the blog. I'm including them because they show you how I use my Hermès scarves. Top to bottom: Belt, neck tie, choker, tied on my handbag and tied as a bracelet. With the tutorial pictures below, this gives you 15 options!

Tie Tutorial | Hermès Scarf

1. Belt Ring

This is an easy way to tie your Hermès scarf as a belt. You will need a scarf ring to make this look possible, or simply make a knot as you can see I did above.

2. Halter Top

Your Hermès scarf can also be tied as a halter top!

3. Maxi Bag

One of the most unique ways is to make your Hermès scarf into a maxi bag. This over the shoulder bag is great for carrying your everyday items in style.

4. Mini Bag

There is also a smaller purse option if you have a smaller Hermès scarf.

How to tie a Hermes scarf like a small tote bag

Another way that I like to use my scarf as a fun accessory are trying it like a bracelet that you can see here or tying it around my purse, which you can see here.

5. Large Bow Tie

A fun way to style your Hermès scarf is to tie it like a necktie bow.

6. Scout Neck Tie

I love to do this simple tie with my Hermès scarf. This neck tie looks great with a collared shirt or V-neck.

7. Cowboy Neck Tie

I love to wear my Hermès scarf with this style tie with a plain colored shirt. This scarf tie adds the wow factor to any look. It helps if you have a chic scarf ring.

8. Collar Necklace

Can't find the perfect necklace to wear with your look? Just tie your Hermès scarf into a necklace!

9. Flowing Neck Tie

When I tie my Hermès scarf in this way I feel French and elegant. I tied mine like a choker two other ways that you can see here and here.

10. Mini Skirt

You can even tie your Hermès scarf like a mini skirt with these easy steps. This requires a larger scarf.

11. Sixties-Style Headband

Having a bad hair day? Tie your Hermès scarf as a headband! I wore my scarf as a headband during my trip to Aruba that you can see here. It really helps with the Caribbean humidity and controlling my frizzy hair!

12. Small Choker

This is another classic style that can instantly elevate your look. This style is best with a neck scarf or other small scarf.

What is your favorite way to tie your Hermès scarf? Please share. And of course, you don't need an Hermès scarf to get these looks. There are many gorgeous scarves at various price points that will still radiate chic-ness.

Dallas to Houston, travel, I-45 highway , quick trip, Texas highway

Can you believe summer is almost here? With Memorial Day weekend right around the corner, now’s the perfect time to start planning your next getaway. I shared the best travel gadgets and essentials last week, so now it's time to plan a trip! Below I've rounded up the best places to travel in Texas this summer. Whether you're looking for a relaxing retreat, a lake adventure, or a glamping experience in the desert, Texas is full of unique summer travel spots that don't require hopping on a plane. From luxury resorts and city escapes to one-of-a-kind experiences you can’t find anywhere else, I’m sharing my top picks for where to travel in Texas this summer plus tips on what to do, where to stay, and what to wear. Let’s hit the road!

____

The Best Places to Travel in Texas This Summer

1. Big Bend & Marfa, Texas – Art, Culture, and West Texas Charm

Prada Marfa horizontal

If you’re craving epic landscapes, remote adventure, and that irresistible West Texas vibe, there’s no better destination than Big Bend National Park—with a must-stop detour in Marfa. This wide-open stretch of the Chihuahuan Desert offers some of the most stunning scenery in the U.S., from towering canyons to hot springs along the Rio Grande. On your way there (or back), plan a day in Marfa for quirky art and small-town charm—it’s the perfect contrast to Big Bend’s raw natural beauty.

What to Do:

In Big Bend:

  • Hike the Lost Mine Trail or the iconic South Rim Trail for breathtaking views.

  • Soak in the historic Hot Springs after a long day of exploring.

  • Drive the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive through dramatic desert and mountain landscapes.

  • Go river rafting through Santa Elena Canyon.

In Marfa:
  • Snap a photo at the famous Prada Marfa installation.

  • Explore local galleries like Ballroom Marfa.

  • Visit the Chinati Foundation for large-scale contemporary art.

  • End your day with some stargazing or a hunt for the Marfa Lights—an unexplained natural phenomenon that draws curious visitors from all over.

Where to Stay:

Stay at The Local Chapter, a luxury glamping spot just outside of town. These chic yurts have air conditioning (yes, really!), spa-like bathrooms, and stunning views of the Chihuahuan Desert. It's a total vibe.

If you overnight in Marfa, The Lincoln Marfa, a boutique property with thoughtfully restored casitas arranged around a peaceful courtyard. It’s centrally located, walkable to Marfa’s main attractions, and offers a stylish, laid-back stay with just the right amount of West Texas quirk.

What to Wear:

Go for desert-chic: wide-brim hats, breezy linen dresses, turquoise jewelry, and Western-inspired boots or sandals. Don’t forget a lightweight jacket for cooler desert nights.

Best Travel Gadgets & Essentials

Packing Essentials

Let's start with the items that will make your packing experience so much easier. Obviously, you’ll need nice luggage. These luxury suitcases are not only high quality and perfect for travel, but also so cute. This carry-on luggage is a similar style for under $200. I own it and love it! Add a nice leather luggage tag so you never have to worry about losing your things. You also need to invest in an Apple AirTag. Owning one has been a game changer for me! One packing tip…use packing cubes. They save a ton of space, plus they are made to save your shoes from being squished. I also recommend investing in these travel ballet flats because they are made to fold into your luggage without getting ruined. Plus, they're so cute! Next, you’ll need a bag for other essentials like electronics, books, etc. I think a backpack with a laptop compartment is a great idea. A nice weekender bag is also a must-have, especially if you aren't flying. Some other things you might not think about…take a luggage scale to make sure your bags aren’t over the weight limit, a leather organizing case to organize your tech items and cables, and a portable charger so you never have to worry about finding a plug in the airport or at a rest stop.

Travel Essentials

Let's look at the travel essentials for your ultimate comfort and safety. I know that some people have a hard time getting comfortable on long travel days, so I wanted to share a few things that will help. You definitely need these noise-masking headphones. They drown out the noise so you can play your favorite music and just fall asleep. Also, you need a nice memory foam neck pillow for the ultimate relaxation. This one can twist into different shapes, making it the best for whatever your travel situation is. If you're flying then you'll also definitely want this phone holder so you can easily watch movies and shows from your phone.

Travel Gadgets

When you arrive at your destination, you’ll want to make sure you have everything you need. There are some things that you’re likely to forget, might not think about, or just make your travel easier. One thing is this travel-sized skincare and travel-sized haircare. I use both of these kits every time I travel. Other gadgets include an outlet adapter and a mobile Wifi hotspot and power bank. This travel steamer is also a must-have item for traveling. Some cool items that help with sanitation is this cell phone sanitizer and charger and this no touch door opener. I love how convenient and easy these gadgets make my life! A fun add on is this GoPro waterproof action camera to capture and remember all of your fun travel adventures.

What’s In My Cart

While preparing for this trip, I did a bit of online browsing (does anyone else do that while packing?). These five items have made it into my cart this week, and they all happen to be perfect for summer travel. Whether you're heading to a sunny destination or planning a weekend road trip, these picks are stylish, functional, and suitcase-friendly. Should I click add to bag?

Lightweight, breathable, and under $80! This linen dress is ideal for warm-weather destinations. It's comfortable for travel days and chic enough for dinner by the beach.
Shop it here

2. Tuckernuck Blue and Natural Odesa Striped Tote

3. Larroude Raffia Sandals

4. Kate Spade Freshwater & Imitation Pearl Shell Pendant Necklace
A chic blend of pearls and shell-inspired design, this necklace adds a touch of coastal elegance to any outfit. Perfect for beachside dinners or casual strolls along the shore.
