Tuesday, Jan 22nd, the HP Lady Scots Varsity traveled to JJ Pearce and defeated the strong rival 1-0 with a goal by Maja Davison assisted by Presley Echols. Then on Friday, Jan 25th, the team again traveled, this time to Rockwall Heath, and came away with a 2-0 win, with goals by Presley Echols and Megan O’Neal. A consistent, solid defense and great goal keeping by Maddie Johnson and Michelle Wiegn kept both games to a shut out.
Both JV teams also had a very successful week- JV Navy defeated JJ Pearce 2-0 (goals by Anna Walker and Parker Hart with an assist by Linda Backich) on Tuesday, and also defeated Rockwall Heath 1-0 (goal in off the defender’s back from a Linda Backich kick) on Friday. JV Gold also had two shuts outs: topping Mckinney 1-0 with a score by Stephanie Hanson, and beating Royce City 1-0 on a goal by Grace Meyer assisted by Tenison Rhodes.
This week, all three teams will be on the road on Tuesday, Jan 29th for their District openers. On Friday, February 1st, the Lady Scots will host Youth Night at Highlander Stadium during their 1st District home game. Varsity kick off is 7:30 PM. All youth players in uniform will get in free. Come early for some Lady Scots swag and cheer on your Lady Scots!
