Author and former journalist Nancy Smith was the featured speaker at The Preston of the Park Cities as the senior living community introduced its new THRIVE Talk and Tea Series. At the July 22 inaugural event, which also included an afternoon tea and book signing, Smith discussed her latest book, Invincible Women of Dallas.
Smith, who is well-known among Dallasites as the former society editor for both The Dallas Morning News and Dallas Times Herald, has penned eight books since 2010. She wrote Invincible Women of Dallas to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote in 1920. With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, the presentation at The Preston of the Park Cities was among her first public appearances to share the work, which features interviews with influential women about their attitudes toward the Equal Rights Amendment, women’s employment and equality, and the future of women in the home and workplace.
The THRIVE Talk and Tea Series presented by The Preston of the Park Cities is a monthly series that is complimentary to attend, but reservations are required.
