The Kappa Alpha Theta chapter at SMU has asked the University Park City Council if it can conduct a 5K race on local streets, which the council will decide on during its meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

According to the meeting's agenda, the UP City Council will vote on a variety of issues, including:

  • Allowing the Theta's to host a 5K race on city streets;
  • Creating "2-Hour" parking in the 6400 block of Thackery;
  • Reimbursing a homeowner in the 2900 block of Lovers Lane who incurred expenses from a sanitary sewer back up into her residence;
  • Approving a resolution accepting the resignation of Raymond D. Noah from the DART Board of Directors and affirming the appointment of Gary A. Slagel to finish the term as the city's shared representative.
