The City of University Park started off its Fourth of July holiday with the annual 5K Firecracker Fun Run, which happened at 7:30 a.m. and began and ended in Curtis Park.

This year's run, which was open to all ages, had more than 400 participants, according to Steve Mace, the City of University Park's public information officer.

Max Rosenfield came in first place for the men's category, finishing in 17:40. Here are the winners of the other categories:

  • First Place Women: Christina Bell
  • First Place Boys 12 and Under: John Moss
  • First Place Boys 12 and Under: John Moss
  • First Place Girls 12 and Under : Jillian Deaver
