SMU vs. Navy SMU's Chase Hover kicks a field goal.

Despite throwing only three passes, Navy was able to stop the Mustang's offense enough to cruise its way to a 24-17 victory on Saturday at SMU's Ford Stadium.

Navy gained all of its offensive yards on the ground, rushing the ball 64 times for 335 yards. The team threw only three passes during the entire game — two of which were incomplete and one was intercepted.

Navy's quarterback Kriss Proctor gained nearly a third of the team's offensive yards himself, rushing the ball 17 times for 107 yards.

SMU's quarterback J.J. McDermott, on the other hand, completed 26 of 36 passing attempts for 249 yards and one interception. Mustang's running back Zach Line carried the ball 24 times for 135 offensive yards.

SMU (6-4) will be playing undefeated No. 11 Houston (10-0) at 2:30 p.m. this coming Saturday at Robertson Stadium, which is being broadcast as part of ESPN's College GameDay special.
