After a bit of cooler weather this month, it looks like it's finally warming up for good in Texas. Right now is the perfect time to bust out fun tops and start to let go of some layers. Whether you have a girls lunch, brunch, or just want a cute look going around town, I got you covered. Let's look at a casual spring look to take you wherever the season leads you.

Ok so one of my favorite pieces for spring is this flutter sleeve blouse (size S). It is the perfect weight for spring! This top really takes a black top to a whole new level. It's also a great piece for any upcoming travels. Plus, it comes in four other great color choices. Another piece you need for early spring is a great pair of jeans. These ankle fray hem jeans or these wide leg crop jeans are perfect styles for spring. The light wash and cropped fit are ideal for warmer weather. These jeans fit true to size.

No look is complete without the right shoes and accessories. Adding designer accessories take a casual look to the next level. These Manolo Blahnik suede mules (similar pair for less here) have been a wardrobe staple for me. I not only wear them in spring, but year round. A designer handbag will also instantly elevate your look. I am in love with this Dior small patent handbag that I purchased on my trip to London. The size and style are just so chic! I finished off my look with Gucci sunglasses.

I think spring is one of my favorite fashion seasons. I love the dresses, lightweight layers, blouses, and bright colors. Today let's take a look at some of my new favorite spring styles from Avara. I love that these looks are all so chic but at an affordable price point. Who said being stylish had to break the bank?

It's finally time to lose extra layers and show off our legs! One dress that I am absolutely in love with is this floral midi dress. It's the perfect dress for an upcoming vacation or a spring date night. The fitted bodice and dropped waistline makes it so flattering. And of course the floral pattern makes it sassy and fun! It comes in both red and black. I wear a size S for size reference.

If you are more of a solid colored kind of gal, then you need this hot pink mixed media dress. I love the V-neck style and beautiful pleated skirt. This is another perfect dress for vacation or a dinner with friends! You can either dress it up with heels or make it casual with flats and a denim jacket. I wear a size S.

You also need some blouses in your wardrobe! This purple eyelet embroidered blouse and this floral print flutter sleeve blouse are both gorgeous options for spring. The colors are so pretty and the styles are flattering on all body types. I wear a size S. Pair your blouse with a flattering pair of white jeans. You will need a great pair for the season, and these are them!

It's also a great time to update your shoes and accessories! These oversized sunglasses have been my go-to this season. They're so chic but only $20! It's also the time of year where you can start using a raffia or straw bag as your everyday purse. One of my favorites is this raffia tote. The braided handles are so chic. As far as shoes go, it's finally time to pull out the sandals and show off your toe nail polish. A pair I'm loving are these mesh heels, these metallic slide sandals, and these raffia slide sandals. Finish off your look with a cute bracelet stack!

This question has been on repeat over on Instagram Stories so I thought I would publish this popular post again. Right now is prime time to do some spring cleaning by cleaning and organizing out your closets. I have some great tips to make it so easy. Purging out those items that you don't need will give you much more peace of mind! I love cleaning and organizing my closet with the help of my amazing stylist, Lexi Dennis. Watch her work her magic in my closet HERE. It's such a reward to purge when you get some amazing new outfit ideas at the end of it. Now before I dive into my tips, I do have a few items I NEVER purge. Designer handbags, special gifts and precious keepsakes. Those will never lose their value or go out of style. Designer handbags become vintage and will always hold their value!

Tips for Cleaning Out Your Closet

To get your closet ready for organization, you need to start by cleaning out all of your unnecessary items. My advice is to make two piles; one for lightly used items that you can donate, and one for items to trash. Below I have listed some great organizations in Dallas that take donated clothes. You can also resell your items through a second-hand clothing site like Poshmark. Ok now let's look at my list of items to get rid of.

1. Anything you haven't worn in a year or more

It might be a great shirt, but clearly you do not love it enough to make it part of your regular wardrobe rotation. Put it in the donation pile. If you haven't worn it in a year, you don't need it.

2. Anything that does not fit

If it is ill-fitting now, it will always be ill-fitting. As Marie Kondo asks, "does it bring you joy?" If it doesn't fit then the answer is NO. It just takes up room in your closet, plus it doesn't make you look and feel great. Those items have got to go. NOW!

3. "Skinny" clothes

Why do we keep these items around?  We love to keep clothing items that don't fit just in case our bodies change, but it's time to get rid of them! I'm all for weight loss motivation, but keeping those jeans from a decade ago is not it. Get them out of your closet.

4. Anything that looks worn

If it has a hole in it that is not fixable, toss it! If it has stains, toss it! You have enough cute loungewear that you do not need to keep these pieces in your closet. They just take up space.

5. Shoes that hurt

Nobody has time for pain. If you have worn a pair of shoes 2-3 times and they are still painful, get rid of them. Chalk it up to a bad decision. We've all done it more than once. TIP: I have my shoes displayed where I can see all of them. I need this visually to style outfits. I've never been one to store my shoes in boxes.

6. Unused bras and underwear

Undies with holes in them? Trash. Bras where the underwire digs in? Get rid of it! This closet clean out includes everything top to bottom. Need some new ones? I highly recommend Soma.

7. Seasonal items you "might" wear again

Something you "might" wear again is not a good enough reason to keep it in your closet. The season has passed on these seasonal items and so has their time in your closet. This includes jewelry, purses, belts, etc. Everything must go. Otherwise, you will be tempted to wear it and look dated.

Tips for Organizing Your Closet

Now that you have gone through every nook and cranny of your closet and determined the items to keep, let's talk about tips to organize your closet clean out. Before you do this, take everything you piled up on the floor and get it out of sight. Consider also one of the PestPro Thermal bed bug heater kits since experts have proven they lay larva and eggs in your clothing.

1. Group similar items together

When organizing, it helps to put all of your tops together, bottoms together, accessories together, etc. I would take it a step further and put similar tops together, like putting your casual tees in one spot and your jeans in one location. This makes it much easier to choose your outfit based on occasion.

2. Color coordinate

Take step 1 another step further and color coordinate you pieces. Again, this helps to quickly assess your closet and find all of your items easily. I love having all of my white tees together as well as my white button down shirts.

3. Invest in storage

Gather garment bins, hangers, jewelry cases, all of it! The more you can consolidate everything in a neat and orderly fashion, the better. I love having an acrylic jewelry case because I can see all of my jewelry choices. I have a bracelet stand, a necklace stand and a jewelry drawer. Also, I think having the same hangers for all of your clothes makes your closet look cleaner and more organized. I use these hangers. Storage TIP: I store all of my travel sunscreen in a plastic bag and keep it inside a straw bag. That way I won't forget it when I start packing for a beach trip.

4. Make a plan to maintain

After you have organized everything, make a plan as to how you will maintain this. Do you need to reevaluate every month or two? Set a reminder and make a plan to maintain your closet clean out. No need to do a complete purge every time. My recommendation is to do this at least twice a year - spring and fall.

Who has upcoming weddings and events but have not planned on what they’re wearing? April, May, and June are peak wedding months, so it’s time to shop for something to wear. ICYMI … I shared my favorite spring and summer wedding guest dresses on Friday. Today let’s zoom in on three gorgeous floral dresses that will be showstoppers at any spring or summer events you have coming up!

Ala von Auersperg is one of my favorite places to shop for elegant, one-of-a-kind dresses. You may remember me first introducing you to the brand here. Her dresses always exude effortless beauty. One dress I am in love with is this lavender floral silk dress (size 6). It is the perfect dress for a formal spring or summer wedding or event. The one shoulder strap and ruched bodice give you a flattering and sophisticated line. The dress also has a slit in the back, making it easier to walk in. I have worn it to a formal wedding as well as the Disney Cruise Line formal night.

If you have a cocktail party or semi-formal event, then you need this short stretch knit dress (size S). This is the most flattering and classy, yet sexy, dress. The stretch knit is thick enough to hide any bumps and panty lines, but still breathable for warmer weather. The dress can be worn on it’s own or layered underneath a kaftan. I am wearing the blue coral print, but it also comes in six other color and pattern choices.

If you are into a more flowy floral dress, then you will love this floral silk shirtdress (size 4). The fitted waist with billowing sleeves and skirt make it so effortlessly elegant. This dress can easily be dressed up for a semi-formal event or dressed down for a beach vacation dinner. When you own a gorgeous dress, you want to be able to wear it for many occasions, so I love the versatility.
