Update at 4:45 p.m. Jan. 27:

UPPD Crime Prevention Officer Lita Snellgrove said the charge for the incident on Jan. 26 has been changed to "Disorderly Conduct Displaying a Knife" because "there was no demand for valuables."

According to Snellgrove, "the suspect walked up to the victim with a knife in his hand as she exited the garage. She screamed, and the suspect left the scene."

JANUARY 20

BURGLARY OF VEHICLE (ALL OTHER THEFT)

A 77-year-old Austin resident told police that unknown suspects broke out the driver’s side door of his vehicle and took several articles of clothing and other items between 3 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 in the 4000 block of Lovers Lane.

JANUARY 21

BURGLARY OF HABITATION

A 51-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect burglarized her home, stealing crystal light fixtures and china plates valued at more than $3,000 between 1 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 8 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the 3800 block of Northwest Pkwy.

DUTY ON STRIKING UNATTENDED VEHICLE

A 63-year-old resident told police that his vehicle parked on the curb was struck by an unknown vehicle between 2:15 a.m. and 8:43 a.m. on Jan. 21 in the 4200 block of Normandy Ave.

THEFT UNDER $50

A 58-year-old resident reported that she left a neighbor’s front door key on her front porch and an unknown suspect took the key between 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the 3800 block of Marquette Street.

BURGLARY OF HABITATION

A 44-year-old resident told police that unknown suspects entered the victim’s home, which is for sale, and took several kitchen appliances between 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the 3700 block of Northwest Pkwy.

BURGLARY OF HABITATION

A 53-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect(s) made forceful entry into her home and took property including diamond earrings valued at approximately $50,000, a $10,000 Rolex, an Apple Macbook Pro, Nook, laptop and iPad mini between 10 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the 4200 block of Larchmont Ave.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A 42-year-old resident told police that her outside bedroom glass window was damaged by an unknown suspect at 6:46 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the 2700 block of Amherst Street.

JANUARY 22

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

A driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 1:23 a.m. on Jan. 22 in the 7300 block of Douglas Ave.

FORGERY OF FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT

A 22-year-old resident reported that an arrested person passed a counterfeit check in an attempt to receive cash in return for the check at 1:09 p.m. on Jan. 22 in the 6900 block of Hillcrest Ave.

BURGLARY OF HABITATION

A 19-year-old resident told police that an unknown person walked into her garage and removed her $500 bike between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 in the 3400 block of Daniel Ave.

BURGLARY OF HABITATION

A 73-year-old resident reported that an unknown suspect entered the residence by unknown means and removed property between Nov. 28 and Dec. 28 in the 3400 block of Haynie Ave.

JANUARY 24

FRAUDULENT USE/POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFO

A 52-year-old resident told police an unknown person used her personal information to open up a cell phone account between Jan. 8 and Jan 23 in the 6000 block of Preston Road.

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

A 25-year-old resident reported that property including $700 cash and a wallet is missing from his residence after a known suspect left the location between 11 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 23 in the 3400 block of Daniel Ave.

JANUARY 26

FORGERY OF FINANCIAL INSTRUMENT 

A 62-year-old Dallas resident told police that a known suspect took three personal checks and forged the owner’s name and cashed the checks between Jan. 18 and Jan. 22 in the 4100 block of Lovers Lane.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH DEADLY WEAPON

A 59-year-old resident reported that an unknown possible white male suspect walked up to her in her rear driveway and attempted to commit aggravated assault with a knife after she exited her vehicle between 7:04 p.m. and 7:06 p.m. on Jan. 26 in the 3600 block of Caruth Blvd.
