The Highland Park Scots didn’t let the frigid temperatures or icy conditions affect their play in the postponed playoff game Monday night, beating the Wylie Pirates 27-14 at Allen’s Eagle Stadium.

Wylie, a defensively strong team, didn’t look anything like the Mansfield Legacy team that the Scots shut out 48-0 in the last round of the playoffs, but Highland Park was still able to pull out a win.

Now 13-1, the Scots will continue its run toward another state championship at 1 p.m. Saturday, again in Allen. Highland Park will face Denton Guyer (the defending Class 4A Div 1 state champions) in the semifinal round.

For tickets to Saturday's game, head to the Highlander Stadium Box Office at either 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday or 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday. Advance tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. All tickets will be $10 at the gate. HP will be the visiting team, and stadium parking will be $5 at the gate.

"I want to thank everyone who has supported the Scots all season long, and especially those who braved the cold weather last night," Head Football Coach Randy Allen said. "We'll need a packed house on Saturday to cheer us on as we face last year's state champs. Remember, when you play one Scot, you play us all."

Whoever wins Saturday's game is heading to the state championship where they'll face the winner of the Houston Stratford/San Antonio Brennan game. The playoff bracket can be viewed here. The state championship is scheduled for 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20 at AT&T Stadium.
