David T. Seaton, Fluor Corporation Chairman and CEO, will serve as United Way of Metropolitan Dallas' 2015 Annual Campaign Chairman.

Following an influential line of global CEOs committed to local United Way leadership, Fluor Corporation Chairman and CEO David T. Seaton will serve as United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ (UWMD) 2015 Annual Campaign Chair.  Seaton will succeed CEO of Frito-Lay North America Tom Greco in the role, building on an unprecedented 90th anniversary year and recent launch of the Unite Forever endowment campaign.

“United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is an essential part of the fabric of our great community that is better equipped than any to address the pressing issues we face,” says Seaton.  “It’s an honor to serve as the 2015 Campaign Chair and have the opportunity to build on the momentum and history that United Way has established with the commitment and support of Dallas-area business and industry.”

Additionally, Seaton said that he, with other area business leaders, will do our part to support the continued development of area youth, assist in funding United Way service providers and help with gains in employment and opportunities for individual financial stability.

Seaton follows four fellow North-Texas based, global CEOs to lead United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ local campaign including 2011 Annual Campaign Chair and CEO of AT&T Randall Stephenson, 2012 Annual Campaign Chair and Chairman, President and CEO of Texas Instruments Rich Templeton, 2013 Annual Campaign Chair and Chairman and CEO of Kimberly-Clark Corporation Tom Falk and 2014 Annual Campaign Chair Tom Greco.

Seaton has been engaged with United Way since leading his department’s workplace campaign at the University of South Carolina, achieving 100% participation.  One of the world’s leading and largest engineering, procurement, and maintenance services companies, Fluor has a long and generous giving history with UWMD, contributing more than $3.3 million since the year 2000.  Fluor volunteer teams have participated in ten major United Way community service projects in the last four years, including ‘STEM in the Schoolyard’ and ‘Live United Day’ efforts.  Under Seaton’s leadership, Fluor was a key 90th anniversary Unite Forever Gala sponsor, specifically supporting January’s ‘Nine for 90’ college readiness event featuring Dallas Cowboy Legend Darren Woodson.

“David is a staunch supporter and incredibly successful business leader, with a powerful, personal connection to the important work of United Way,” says Jennifer Sampson, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas CEO and President.  “His chairmanship sends a strong message that global corporations and their leaders are committed to, and invested in, changing lives.  Together, we’re creating opportunities for more stable, rewarding and productive futures for citizens across the region.”

“I’m honored to pass along the proverbial campaign ‘spurs’ to David,” says Seaton’s predecessor Greco. “I know he and his talented team will work diligently to build on the strengths of this special anniversary year and drive another record-breaking fundraising effort, ensuring opportunities and access to education, good health and financial stability for all North Texans.”

United Way’s 2015 annual campaign officially begins in July, with workplace campaigns gearing up in the Fall.  United Way of Metropolitan Dallas brings people together to improve lives and create lasting change here in North Texas by focusing on education, income, and health -- the building blocks for strong families and thriving communities.  To learn more about United Way and how to give, visit www.unitedwaydallas.org.
