The 2013 WINGS Luncheon, benefiting New Friends New Life, was held Friday, April 13 at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Dallas and featured Barbara Pierce Bush, CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps.

The “WINGS” luncheon event was chaired by Gina Betts, partner with Locke Lord LLP. The honorary chairmen were mother and daughter Lana Andrews and Natalie McGuire, community volunteers associated with Andrews Distributing. CBS 11 News' "This Morning" anchor Brendan Higgins served as the master of ceremonies.

“We are extremely grateful to our sponsors and attendees who made the 10th annual WINGS luncheon a great success,” said Katie Pedigo, NFNL Executive Director. “Through their support, we are able to restore and empower formerly trafficked girls and sexually-exploited women to help them overcome abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities.”

The afternoon included an introduction video from former First Lady Barbara Bush, an appearance by Laura Bush, and a video explaining New Friends New Life’s mission. The presenting sponsor of the luncheon was Texas Health Resources.

About New Friends New Life: New Friends New Life began by women helping women in 1998. NFNL provides holistic services for trafficked teen girls and sexually-exploited women and their children. Staff and volunteers now provide counseling for women and their children, a program for children of protégés, and a therapeutic prevention program at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Centers. New Friends New Life partners with a number of agencies and individuals to provide legal assistance, medical services, budget counseling, job readiness training, second-chance jobs, and educational opportunities.
