Local Dallas artist, dancer, soccer player, IT manager and accomplished speaker Desmond Blair came to speak to HPISD fourth grades Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Desmond's keen artistic abilities came as a result of being born without hands. His tenacity and determination helped him work through a series of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, turning them into opportunities to thrive.

Desmond shared his journey, his work and his artistic process, answering questions from the kids about the attributes of being a professional artist. He shared that no matter what challenge they face, they must continue to solve the problem with passion and never give up.

HP Arts thanks Desmond Blair, whose works can be seen in local galleries, the funds from which go directly to Dallas-based children's charities.
