Apsaline Douglas – 8th Chair Alto 2

Brennan Davis – 5th Chair Tenor 2

These singers will attend a four-day, fun-filled TMEA Convention in San Antonio, Texas on February 14th-17th.  While at the convention, they will participate in clinics and rehearsals under the direction of Dr. Andre ThomasFlorida State University, Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, Calvin College, and Dr. Andrew Last, Luther College.  The Texas All-State Choirs will present concerts for the membership of TMEA and the public on Saturday, February 17th at Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.

"Placement in an All-State Choir is the highest individual honor a choral student can receive.  These students have been working towards this audition since last summer, attending choir camps in June and July! They have gone through four separate auditions over the course of the year to bring them to this point!" said Natalie Walker, HPHS Choir Director.

Over 1,700 students are selected through a process that begins with over 60,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 15 ensembles (bands, orchestras, and choirs). All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Clinic/Convention. Their performances before thousands of attendees bring this extraordinary event to a close.
