Park Cities residents will have an opportunity to dispose of unused and unwanted prescription drugs safely during a Prescription Drug Take Back Day event this weekend.

The Drug Enforcement Administration will be collecting prescription medications for free to help prevent drug abuse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Highland Park Department of Public Safety Communications lobby, which is located at 4700 Drexel Dr.

Anyone who is interested in disposing of prescription drugs safely and properly can drop off their unneeded medications during the "take back" event, according the town of Highland Park website. The drugs can be dropped off with or without containers and documentation is not required from people who bring medications.
