Bistro 31 Dallas restaurateur Alberto Lombardi will be opening Bistro 31 on Monday in Highland Park Village.

After months of anticipation by Highland Park Village shoppers, well-known Dallas restaurateur Alberto Lombardi will be officially opening Bistro 31 on Monday in the shopping and dining center.

The restaurant will be offering Mediterranean-style food that has French, Italian and Spanish influences. Eric Brandt, who was formerly with the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, is the restaurant's executive chef.

Hans Raina, the location's general manager, said Bistro 31 will first open its doors for dinner at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, but starting Tuesday, Oct. 4 the restaurant will open at 7 a.m. and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Raina said there will be no special event at Bistro 31 next week, but a new bar area is being built upstairs, and there will be a celebratory grand opening event for the expansion after it is completed.

"We will be opening a 3,000-square-foot bar upstairs in January," Raina said.

The restaurant is located next door to the Anne Fontaine store in the middle of the shopping center.

Entrées at Bistro 31 cost about $25. Also, reservations are not being taken, and customers will be served on a walk-in basis.

Alberto Lombardi has been in Dallas for over 30 years and has opened numerous restaurants, including Sangria and Toulouse.
