THUR OCT 23 7PM

FRI OCT 24   4PM

SAT OCT 25   7PM

SUN OCT 26  2PM

AT HPMS AUDITORIUM

The HPMS cast contains forty-three 7th and 8th grade students from the Playbill class led by Susan McCormick, HPMS drama director, and Megan Kelly Bates, chorographer/artistic director of the Preston Center Dance Conservatory.

The two-hour musical is based on the 2001 DreamWorks film Shrek and William Steig's 1990 book Shrek!  The Broadway production of the show, which opened in 2008, received a total of twelve Drama Desk Awards and eight Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.

The story begins with an ogre, named Shrek, re-telling tales of his childhood that most memorably begin on his seventh birthday when his parents send him out to make a living in the world alone!  Shrek delightfully and hilariously details his travels along the way including encounters with a talkative donkey, a ferocious female dragon, a diminutive Lord Farquaad, a host of Fairy Tale characters, and a most unique and colorful, lady-in-waiting, princess named Fiona.

Come and be a part of this musical madness and comical journey to find out what living ‘happily ever after’ looks like through an Ogre’s eyes!
