A public hearing will be hosted during the regularly scheduled University Park City Council meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall about a request to amend the site plan for a new building on the southeast corner of Fondren Drive and North Central Expressway in University Park.

The current site plan, which was approved by the City Council in December 2008, is for a 20-story, 425,000-square-foot building, according to the City Council meeting agenda. The developer would like to amend the site plan, which would reduce the structure's size to be a maximum of "80 feet in height with no more than 6 stories and a gross floor area of 241,000 square feet."

The amended plan would allow the building to have 238 multi-family apartments, no more than 4,500 square feet of space dedicated to commercial use, and no more than 5,150 square feet dedicated to a "leasing office, lobby and other related uses," according to the amended site plan.

After the public hearing, the Council is set to vote on the request, which the UP Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended to approve. Click here for more information.
