JUNE 5

Vehicle Burglary
A 36-year-old resident reported that someone broke into her 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe by shattering a rear-door window and stole her Louis Vuitton purse, which was on the front seat, between 11:08 a.m. and 11:37 a.m. while the car was parked near the Highland Park municipal swimming pool in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue.

Vehicle Burglary
A 61-year-old resident of University Park reported that someone broke into her 2005 Jaguar XJ by shattering the front, passenger-door window and stole her purse, which was on the floorboard, between 11:08 a.m. and 11:37 a.m. while it was parked near the Highland Park municipal swimming pool in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue.

Vehicle Burglary
A 55-year-old resident of Dallas reported that someone stole her purse from the front passenger floorboard of her 2011 Mercedes convertible when the top was down between 9:15 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. in the 4800 block of Abbott Avenue while she was playing tennis. Her purse contained $500 in cash, about $200 in Mexican pesos, a Gucci wallet, a makeup bag, Kate Spade sunglasses, a drivers license, numerous credit and debit cards, and a key ring with car and house keys on it.

Criminal Trespass
A 30-year-old resident of Garland reported that he had finished working in the front yard of a Highland Park residence and was walking down the driveway to the backyard when he noticed two suspects entering through the back gate at 12:06 p.m. in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue. When the two men were spotted, they fled through the gate into the alley and disappeared.

JUNE 6

Vehicle Burglary
A 58-year-old resident reported that someone broke into his 2000 Chevrolet Suburban by shattering the front, passenger-door window and stole a Garmin GPS device, which was on his windshield, between 9 p.m. on June 5 and 6 a.m. on June 6 in the 4500 block of Abbott Avenue.

Theft
A 65-year-old resident reported that two terracotta pots, containing cedar trees, valued at $200, were stolen from her front yard between 10 a.m. and noon in the 4600 block of Livingston Avenue.

JUNE 7

Fraud
A 51-year-old resident of Dallas, who works at Carbone's Fine Food & Wine in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue, reported that someone had cashed fraudulent checks that appeared to be from the store.

Identity Theft
A 35-year-old resident, who lives in the 5000 block of Abbott Avenue, reported that someone made more than $2,500 worth of charges on her American Express Platinum account between May 28 and June 4.

JUNE 8

Vehicle Burglary
A resident reported that she arrived home from grocery shopping and left the tailgate of her Chevrolet Suburban for about 30 minutes while she took her daughter into the house between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the 4900 block of Abbott Avenue. During that time period, someone stole three bags of groceries and a key ring, containing her car and house keys, which were left on the floorboard of the unsecured vehicle.

Failure to Leave ID at Accident
A 28-year-old resident of Dallas, who was working as a valet driver, reported that he gave a man, who was driving a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the keys to his vehicle, then the man reversed and hit a 2005 BMW 645Ci, which was parked behind him, causing a quarter-size dent on the BMW, around 8 p.m. in Highland Park Shopping Village. The driver "momentarily" examined the damage then left the scene without leaving information.

JUNE 9

Criminal Trespass
A 73-year-old resident of University Park was detained in handcuffs after an altercation involving his dog around 9:45 a.m. in Highland Park Shopping Village. The 73-year-old had tethered his dog to his vehicle's tire while he was at Starbucks, but it broke free and got into a fight with a leashed dog that was being walked by another man. The two men got into a verbal argument because of the dog fight, which caused a customer at Starbucks to intervene, but the yelling continued and got louder. The store's manager got involved in the situation, and the 73-year-old told the manager to "get back to work and mind her own business." Also, during the situation, the 73-year-old attempted to pursue a female customer through Starbucks because he said she photographed his car. Police arrived on the scene and put the 73-year-old in handcuffs to gain control of his behavior, then he was given a trespass warning and released.
