The Elisa Project, a nonprofit organization with the goal preventing and treating eating disorders, hosted a kick-off event on Feb. 7 for its upcoming 7th Annual Life Lessons Luncheon.

The kick-off event was at the Matthew Trent store in the Plaza at Preston, according to a news release. Matthew and Lori Trent are advocates of The Elisa Project.

At the kick-off event, an announcement was made about who will be speaking and receiving awards at the upcoming luncheon, which includes WFAA's Gloria Compos, who will be the emcee; Brad Lamm, an author and educator that has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, who will be the keynote speaker; and Stephanie Setliff, who will receive the 2012 Star of Hope Award. Robin Bagwell and Jan Osborn are the co-chairs for the luncheon.

The 7th Annual Life Lessons Luncheon is a fundraising event for The Elisa Project that will fund "school-age and community education and prevention programs throughout North Texas" and help people with eating disorders get treatment and support. The luncheon will be hosted at 11:30 a.m. March 28 at The Hilton Anatole Hotel.
