The 1st Annual Stiletto Stampede for the Cure in Dallas has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. May 24 at Tootsies at The Plaza at Preston Center.

The event was originally set for March 3 but had to be rescheduled because of utility construction that will occur on Luther Lane then, which would have interfered with the event's course.

The Stampede is an organized 100-yard dash in high heels to encourage young men and women to understand the risks of breast cancer and importance of early detection through self-awareness and screening methods.

The event is trying to set a Guinness Book World Record for having 1,000 people in high heels, and the first 1,000 people to register will receive a pair of pink stilettos. All of the runners will receive a Guinness Book of World Records event medallion and goody bag for participating.

A kickoff party for the Stampede was hosted on Feb. 2 at Tootsies, which is one of the event's partners. In addition to Tootsies, Where Wear in the City and francisco+co are partners for the event.
