The Highland Park Lady Scots competed in their first official meet this past Saturday.  They are off to a strong start with the JV team placing 1st and the Varsity team taking 4th in the Newman Smith Trojan Relays. 

 

Varsity Event leaders included:

  • Falyn Reaugh  - 1st place in the high jump and triple jump, and 3rd place in the long jump.
  • Grace Beitter - 1st place in the 800 meter
  • Sophie Schott  - 3rd place in the 1600 meter.

The Scots took 2nd in the 4x200 relay with the team of Falyn Reaugh, Abbey Govett, Val McWilliams and Hannah Booe.

They took 3rd in the 4x400 relay with the team of Sophia Vidal, Grace Beitter, Maddie Stephens and Falyn Reaugh.

 

There were many JV standouts including:

  • Elizabeth Thornton - 1st in the high jump.
  • Gracey Cobb - 2nd in the long jump.
  • Sarah Walker and Ella Brown - 1st and 2nd in the pole vault.
  • Emma Chapel - 2nd place in the triple jump.
  • Alex Davey - 1st place in the 3200 run.
  • 1st and 2nd in the 800 meter - Julia Helton and Brynn Weekly.
  • Ashley Adams -  3rd in the 100 meter hurdles.
  • Rachel Read - 3rd in the 400 meter.
  • Taylor Clark - 3rd in the 200 meter.
  • Stephanie Mara, Alex Davey and Julia Helton - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place 1600 meter.

The Scots took 1st and 2nd in the 4x400 meter relay with 1st place team:  Zoe Durham, Rachel Reed, Ashely Booe and Julia Helton.

2nd place team:  Peyton Soetenga, Brynn Weakley, Ana Watterson and Sophie Hung.

 

Overall, members of both teams achieved 17 personal records. Congratulations to the Lady Scots!
