The Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park are partnering up later this month for a community blood drive, which will benefit Carter BloodCare.

The blood drive, which is being organized by the Rotary Club of Park Cities, will be hosted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 at both Highland Park Town Hall and University Park City Hall and again from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 31 at the NorthPark Center.

Anyone is welcome to make a donation by stopping by one of the locations anytime during the blood drive. Donors must be 17 years old or older to donate independently, but 16-year-olds can potentially donate with a parent's consent. To donate, you must be weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present photo identification. Anyone who donates is recommended to eat a meal and drink plenty of fluids beforehand.

Carter BloodCare is the largest nonprofit community blood center in Texas and works with health care facilities that service 56 counties in the state. The organization needs at least 1,100 donors each day to meet the needs of patients.
