The tennis and girls cross country teams at Highland Park High School were formally recognized Tuesday evening by the Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees during a special ceremony at McCulloch Intermediate School. The two teams took first place at their respective UIL state competitions. On Nov. 1, the Highland Park tennis team won its fourth consecutive UIL Class 4A state championship in College Station. On Nov. 12, the Highland Park Lady Scots cross country team won the UIL Class 4A state championship for a second year in a row at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas. Each team has won a state record 13 times.
