Highland Park High School ranks among the top 100 public high schools in the country, according to a U.S. News & World report.

U.S. News teamed up with American Institutes for Research, a behavioral and social science research organization, to produce a list of the best public high schools in the United States, and Highland Park was ranked No. 92.

The criteria used to rank the schools included how their students performed statistically compared to the state's average student, how the least-advantaged students performed academically, and how well the students were prepared for college based on Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate test data.

Nearly 22,000 public high schools from 49 states and the District of Columbia were analyzed for the report.

Highland Park was ranked the tenth best public high school in Texas, according to the report. Here are all of the Texas schools in the top 100 list:

  • No. 1 — School for the Talented and Gifted — Dallas
  • No. 3 — School of Science and Engineering Magnet - Dallas
  • No. 33 — Carnegie Vanguard High School — Houston
  • No. 36 — Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions — Houston
  • No. 37 — Westlake Academy — Westlake
  • No. 48 — The Science Academy of South Texas — Mercedes
  • No. 54 — Liberal Arts & Science Academy (LASA) — Austin
  • No. 56 — YES Prep North Central — Houston
  • No. 66 — Peak Preparatory — Dallas
  • No. 92 — Highland Park High School — Dallas
