The volunteer spirit in HPISD is extraordinary, and we believe it stems from the parents, grandparents and community members who give their time, expertise and resources to our schools every day. During its April 8 meeting, the HPISD Board of Trustees proclaimed April 21-25 as Public School Volunteer Appreciation Week.

HPISD volunteers spend countless hours serving on formal decision-making committees, overseeing campus activities, conducting fundraising events, assisting classroom teachers, overseeing cafeteria food service and supply rooms and coordinating special projects to help our campuses run smoothly.

Our students are reminded of our motto, "Enter to learn. Go forth to serve." when they see volunteers working hard in their school every day.

From all of us in the district, "Thank you!"
