The 2014 Child & Family Guidance Center gala committee is pleased to announce  plans for an exciting, black tie affair of mystery and elegance, together with a lavish menu set to the backdrop of 18th century Venice.  In keeping with grand tradition of this age of opulence, this year’s theme ‘Venetian Masquerade’ is set to be an unapologetic evening of dazzle and delight in an effort to unmask the continued misconception and false beliefs of mental illness.

This historical evening in the making is slated for Friday, May 9 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. at the beautiful Noah's of Las Colinas located at 6101 E. Campus Circle Drive in Irving.

“Just as masked revelers were cloaked in a veil of mystery during these celebrations, stigma unfortunately continues to surround the individuals who experience a mental health condition”, said Carol Lucky, CEO of Child & Family Guidance Center.  “It’s this same stigma that often keeps people from seeking the help they need.  Our belief is that prevention and alleviation of mental illness is critical to healthy individual development, a fulfilling life and a positive community environment. ”

A silent auction will offer the opportunity to bid on fabulous prizes, such as a luxurious sports entertainment suite, vacation getaways, gorgeous jewelry, a once in a lifetime experience to attend and receive VIP access to the 2015 People’s Choice Awards and much more!  In addition, the evening will feature a 50/50 raffle, dancing and Carnevale entertainment in grand Italian style!

The annual gala and other events held by Child & Family Guidance Center will continue to help support the adults, children and families impacted by the effects of mental illness, abuse, neglect and high-risk behaviors.  As the oldest child guidance center in Texas, Child & Family Guidance Center serves over 12,000 individuals, including over 5,000 children annually in North Texas.
