The Lady Scots varsity basketball team beat the McKinney North Lady Bulldogs by a score of 48-42 on Saturday to win the 48th Annual Scot Classic Tournament hosted at Highland Park High School.

The tournament lasted from Thursday to Saturday and featured teams including Hockaday, Terrell, Woodrow Wilson, WT White and Garland.

During championship game against McKinney North, Kaitlyn Read scored 14 points for the Lady Scots, which was the most out of any player on the team. She was also named the MVP of the tournament.

Other high scoring players for Highland Park include Amanda Goodwin who had 10 points and Sydney McDaniel who had 9 points.

The Lady Scot's next game is against WT White at 7 p.m. Monday in Highland Park's main gym.
