HP vs. Woodrow Wilson Owen Wilson watches the game.

A crowd of fans, including movie star Owen Wilson, cheered on Highland Park to a 49-24 victory over Woodrow Wilson on Friday night during the Class 4A Region II area round of the playoffs at RISD's Wildcat-Ram Stadium.

The Scots ran a balanced offense during the game, completing 265 passing and 263 rushing yards. Highland Park's senior running back Preston Miller had a big night with 17 carriers for 169 offensive yards.

Scots quarterback Brady Burgin completed 18 of 29 passes for 265 yards during the matchup, but he also threw three interceptions — two of which were returned for touchdowns.

Despite Burgin's interceptions, Highland Park's defense played hard and only allowed Wilson to score 10 points on offense, which helped secure a victory for the Scots.

Highland Park's next playoff game is against Tyler John Tyler at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Waco ISD Stadium.
