A person attempted to cash a forged check at 3:38 p.m. in the 7000 block of Snider Plaza.
Vehicle Burglary
A 52-year-old resident had a $2,000 laptop and a $100 Apple iPod Nano stolen out of his 2011 Ford Escape by an unknown person between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. in the 3600 block of Bryn Mawr Drive.
Property Theft
A 32-year-old resident of Grand Prairie reported that an unknown person broke the window to his car and stole $7,100 in property, including a $4,800 watch and a $500 Apple iPad 2 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. in the 6400 block of N. Central Expressway.
DECEMBER 29
Property Theft
A 71-year-old resident reported his single axle flatbed trailer valued at $1,200 was stolen from his driveway by an unknown suspect between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 24 in the 4400 block of Glenwick Lane.
Criminal Mischief
A 37-year-old resident reported that an unknown person caused $500 in damage to her 2011 Jaguar between 7 p.m. Dec. 28 and noon Dec. 29 in the 4100 block of Emerson Avenue.
Theft — Telecommunication Service
A 40-year-old resident of Irving reported that an unknown person opened a Sprint account and charged $260 of usage under her name sometime between Dec. 1 and Dec. 27 from a convenience store in the 4300 block of Lovers Lane.
Property Theft
A 40-year-old resident reported that two outside mirrors valued at a total of $900 were stolen from her 2004 Cadillac Escalade parked outside of her home between 8 p.m. Dec. 27 and 11 a.m. Dec. 28 in the 2700 block of Amherst Street.
DECEMBER 30
Criminal Mischief
A 42-year-old resident reported that two vehicles parked in the rear driveway of her home were broken into between 10 p.m. Dec. 29 and 7 a.m. Dec. 30 in the 2700 block of Westminster Avenue.
DECEMBER 31
Burglary
An unknown person burglarized a CVS store between 11 a.m. Dec. 30 and 7:40 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 6700 block of Preston Road and stole $2,286.50 of cigarettes and tobacco products and $556.50 of other products.
Vehicle Burglary
A 58-year-old resident reported that an unknown person broke the back window to her 2009 Mercedes and stole a computer between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 31 in the 4500 block of Mockingbird Lane.
Fraudulent Use of Identifying Info
A 30-year-old resident, who lives in the 3500 block of Milton Avenue, reported that an unknown person opened credit card accounts in her name between Dec. 21 and Dec. 31.
Property Theft
An employee of Wells Fargo Bank in the 4300 block of Lovers Lane took $7,004.80 from the bank teller and left the building and then called the bank manager about 45 minutes later and resigned from his job at 12:09 p.m. Dec. 6.
JANUARY 2
Building Burglary
An unknown person entered Highland Park High School by unknown means, smashed a window of a door to the cafeteria office and stole three money bags containing $1,715 cash from an unlocked safe between 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29 and 7 a.m. Jan. 2.
Fraudulent Use of Identifying Info
A 28-year-old resident, who lives in the 4500 block of Emerson Avenue, reported that an unknown person attempted to open a credit card account using her identity sometime between Dec. 1 and Jan. 2.
