The Highland Park High School girls varsity basketball team lost to the Rockwall Lady Yellowjackets by a score of 58-54 on Friday at Rockwall High School.

The Lady Scots ended the first half of the game with a 21-20 lead but were unable to hold on and ultimately lost to the Lady Yellowjackets.

During the game, Highland Park junior Kaitlyn Read led the team in scoring with 21 points and was followed by senior Amanda Goodwin with 11 points, junior Haylee Anigian-Rios with nine points and senior Sydney McDaniel with seven points.

The Lady Scots now have an overall record of 10-3 and are 0-1 in District 10-4A play. The team's next game is against Wylie East at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Highland Park High School's main gym.
