Yesterday, Alcuin School students celebrated Earth Day with a variety of fun, athletic and educational activities that focused on the importance of waste reduction, recycling and reuse. The students participated in informative presentations with representatives from the Trinity River Audubon Center and the Roger's Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Special guests included Shiloh, Alcuin's live hawk mascot and his friend Ozzie, a black vulture. Following the presentations, students enjoyed a "no waste" picnic in the Commons where they were encouraged to recycle or compost any trash.
