It was a night to remember at Alcuin School’s 50^th Celebration Auction at the Fashion Industry Gallery on March 21.  Guests, including parents and supporters, attended this chic soiree themed “Back to the Future,” in celebration of Alcuin’s 50^th anniversary led by co-chairs Janeen Cooter, Megen Manson and Keri Tonn.

In line with the theme, several guests wore a variety of creative costumes from their favorite decade from the 60s to the present.

Walter Sorensen, Head of School, was on hand to deliver special remarks, followed by dinner prepared by Chef Justo Blanco of Bolsa and a special musical performance by The Top Band.

One of the most significant contributions made with proceeds from the auction directly impacts each and every classroom at Alcuin School. These all important funds enrich the daily experiences Alcuin students have with their classroom environments. These improvements are made possible by the generosity of the Alcuin parent community and supporters.

 Also, as in previous years, the proceeds from the gala fundraiser will support the Alcuin Parents’ Club commitment to the Alcuin 50^th Capital Campaign.  These campaigns have provided funding for many special resources that directly enrich the experiences of each Alcuin student.  For example, several of the projects funded by this effort include: Alcuin’s Innovation Studio; libraries; art studio; science labs; the gymnasium; the Galbraith Family Building; the Motor Development Lab; and the organic garden, as well as so many additions and enhancements that make Alcuin so unique.    

 “We dedicate this year’s auction to the entire Alcuin community,” said Sorensen.  “The faculty and staff, parent body, and students are the cumulative glue that makes our community truly special.  The event raises significant funds for the Alcuin Parents’ Club Capital Campaign contribution, thus providing a venue for us to continue to grow and celebrate as a community.”
