Park Cities residents are invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the new University Park Library, which will be hosted at 9 a.m. on Sept. 8 at the building's construction site on the southwest side of The Plaza at Preston Center.

University Park Mayor Dick Davis will speak at the event, as will University Park Library President Susan Hall and Preston Center Property Manager Mike Geisler. Renderings of the new library will be on display during the ceremony.

The new library will have a children's reading room, a designated teen area, group study rooms, and an expanded collection space in addition to a variety of other features.
