The Highland Park Lady Scots varsity basketball team overcame a seven-point halftime deficit to beat the McKinney North Lady Bulldogs by a score of 49-47 on Tuesday at McKinney North High School.

A balanced offensive attack helped the Lady Scots secure their victory. During the game, Kaitlyn Read led Highland Park in scoring with 12 points and was followed by Amanda Goodwin with 10 points, Alex Reynolds with 9 points, Libby Ethington and Courtney Klingaman with 8 points each, and Sydney McDaniel with 2 points.

The Lady Scots (20-7, 8-4) are now tied for second in their district with McKinney North. Highland Park's next game is against Heath at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the HPHS main gym, and it will also be Senior Night for the Lady Scots, so all of the graduating players on the team will be honored before the game.
