SRS Real Estate Partners announces new tenant Fireside Pies’ sixth Dallas/Fort Worth location at Creekside in Lake Highlands with expected opening early next year. The 4,230 square foot site is located in the outparcel building fronting Skillman Street. Fireside Pies currently operates four restaurants in the metroplex with plans for the Inwood Road location to re-open in October following remodeling.

"We’re proud to be partnered with Retail Plazas and Lake Highlands to create a progressive impact on the surrounding community,” said Henry Leonard, President of Fireside Pies. “We believe Fireside Pies will bring fresh energy to the intersection as well as kick off momentum for planned area improvements including new monument signage and trail connections to exclusive restaurants and retailers at Creekside. Lake Highlands is a great community with a bright future and we look forward to serving the neighborhood.”

In 2004, Fireside Pies was born to an old cottage on historic Henderson Avenue in Dallas. Today, Fireside Pies is a collection of intimate neighborhood restaurants dedicated to serving outstanding artisan pizzas made in hot wood-fired ovens, served alongside from-scratch pasta dishes, salads and desserts. Each fireside pies restaurant mirrors the character of its neighborhood so no two are the same but all evoke the soul of heartfelt rustic cooking, genuine hospitality and the joyous spirit of a great gathering place.

Creekside is an 110,000 square foot entertainment center, which was born through the redevelopment of the shopping center previously known as Skillman Abrams Shopping Center. Acquired by an affiliate of Retail Plazas in 2016 and redeveloped in conjunction with the leasing of the former Simon David/Tom Thumb grocery space to Alamo Drafthouse in 2017, Creekside is quickly becoming one of the premier entertainment complexes in Dallas. Creekside was named BEST REAL ESTATE DEAL of 2017 in the Retail/Restaurant category by The Dallas Business Journal.

The SRS Real Estate Partners and Cypress Equities team in Dallas/Ft. Worth found multiple ways to give back to the Dallas community this holiday season.

On November 30, more than 20 team members volunteered their time at the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), sorting, boxing and bagging food for distribution. The NTFB in Dallas provides food for hungry children, seniors, and families year round and is especially busy during the holidays. Just last year, the NTFB provided 63.4 million meals to needy individuals in the North Texas area.

“Our team truly appreciated the opportunity to roll our sleeves up for a great local cause,” said Mark Reeder, executive vice president and market leader in the Dallas/Ft. Worth office. “We plan to make it an annual tradition.”

The Dallas/Ft. Worth office also took part in the Salvation Army Corporate Angel Tree program for the twelfth consecutive year. The Angel Tree program provides Christmas assistance to families in need in the Dallas area, bringing joy to children and families during the holiday season.

The SRS & Cypress team adopted 50 angels, aged six months to teenaged, fulfilling the angels’ gift and clothing wish lists. Once all the angel donations were received, team members took the gifts to the Salvation Army Christmas Distribution Center on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas. While at the center, SRS employees assisted in sorting gifts and stocking shelves.

Treehouse Groundbreaking @ The Hill (Walnut Hill & North Central Expressway)

Last month, SRS Real Estate Partners’ Dallas/Fort Worth team joined investment and development partners to celebrate the ground breaking of Treehouse at The Hill – the newest site for the eco-friendly home improvement company located at Walnut Hill and North Central Expressway.

The groundbreaking was a significant step for Treehouse, whose original store is located in Austin, Texas. Treehouse CEO and co-founder Jason Ballard argued that the planning of their second location in Dallas was even more important than the first, because it illustrates Treehouse’s direction, intent and trajectory toward their goal of being on the cutting edge of science, sustainability, healthy building practices and technology.

Bringing the excitement and energy of new tenants and concepts, SRS’ Dawn Greiner leads the brokerage team for the mixed-use, multi-tenant center, which will include a combination of redevelopment and new construction.

When Cypress Equities came across this opportunity, they had been looking to bring something to Dallas that didn’t exist yet, said Michael Wheat, managing director of leasing and marketing. “We couldn’t have looked for, and ultimately come together, with a better response for that vision and what we wanted to bring to the community of Dallas than Treehouse,” he said.
