3K Fun Run/Walk and 5K Timed Run Benefitting the SPCA of Texas to be Held at the Base of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas

WHAT: Get ready to strut your stuff with your furry best friend and the SPCA of Texas at the 15th Annual Strut Your Mutt, The Race to End Animal Cruelty, presented by VCA Animal Hospitals and Hill’s Pet Nutrition. On Saturday, May 9th come join the party at the base of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge near Trinity Groves in Dallas. Registration is $35 for the 3K Fun Run and $40 for the timed 5K (canine companions are welcome but not required). All money raised through Strut Your Mutt will help the SPCA of Texas rescue, rehome and rehabilitate thousands of animals in the DFW area. Register today, and start fundraising for the cause at! Online registration will be available until May 9.

The day-of festivities kick-off at 7:30 a.m. with registration and music provided by DJ Mark Cutz and DJ Inzo from Radio DJs. Then, head to the Revamped Security - Authorized ADT Dealer Main Stage for pre-race warm-ups with emcees from 106.1 KISS FM, 102.9 NOW and Lone Star 92.5 and the Dallas Mavericks ManiAACs. The timed 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 3K Fun Run will start at 9:30 a.m.

The goal of Strut Your Mutt is to raise awareness about animal cruelty in North Texas. The SPCA of Texas' Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit rescues more than 2,500 animals from cruelty each year, many resulting in criminal convictions in multiple North Texas counties. The SPCA of Texas hopes to continue to positively impact this issue with the support of the community. 

All registrants can do even more help the SPCA of Texas raise funds for its critical work supporting our community’s most vulnerable pets and their people by participating in the individual and corporate fundraising challenges for cool prizes. Top fundraising challenge prizes will be awarded to participants who collect the most pledges. Donations may be made for Strut Your Mutt through May 31.

In addition to the walk and run, strutters will enjoy refreshments, as well as free food. There will also be plenty of family fun events for you to enjoy in our Bow-Wow-Bazaar and Meow Market, which will include vendor booths, activities for pets and kids, demonstrations and more!

The SPCA of Texas invites the community to take the next step and form a team at and fundraise to help the SPCA of Texas.
