Anyone who goes by just one name has to be unique – right? And unique, he is. Being with Pogir, one feels that something exciting is just about to happen. His buoyant exuberance is matched only by his talent: an unerring eye for quality, tremendous design capabilities (he has a degree in architecture), a powerful sales background, a global sensibility – and a masterful, intuitive way with people.

Born in South Africa where he received a degree in architecture, Pogir soon moved to Miami, specializing in the design of spectacular beach houses in Miami and in Palm Beach. He was also part of a team that designed several exclusive country clubs. Members of his family were property developers of one of south Florida’s most prestigious island developments, where he experienced many aspects of design, development, marketing and sales.

In 1990, he moved to Dallas and began to work in sales and interior design for Cantoni Furniture, the leading modern design stores in the U.S. For 21 years, he was one of the top sales producers and designers for the company and worked with successful clients from all over the world.

After spending a whole day working with one of his client’s daughters on an apartment design, he met her again totally by chance that same night. They are now married, and he and Linsey Barnes have two beautiful children.

Today, Pogir brings all of his knowledge and experience to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. He is partnering with his wife (it’s Pogir & Pogir!), and he was actually the lead designer on behalf of Cantoni for the first two listings with knock-out modern designs. He now brings his vast negotiating, sales and design talent to bear on behalf of sellers, for whom he stages properties for maximum appeal, and buyers, whom he can advise regarding a home’s design potential and ultimate longevity.

Pogir is passionate not only about his work; he also finds time to support the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, America’s largest and most diverse animal sanctuary for rescued, abused and neglected animals.

Finally, don’t be fooled by the fact that he is equally at home with clients who are elite athletes and power couples, that developers from Mexico have sent private jets for him to design and furnish their mansions, or that he created on behalf of one client a luxury second home adjacent to a nature reserve outside of Bangkok – with elephants! His core qualities are, in the words of a client, “character, integrity, and genuine sincerity.”
