The Park Cities July 4th celebration and parade was a time to make memories and start new traditions. Celebrating the birthday of the country was a perfect match for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s Debutantes who are celebrating their 30th anniversary year in support of the DSO.
“We wanted to have a float in this big neighborhood parade to celebrate our 30th year of the Ball and to bring awareness of our support for the Dallas Symphony to the community,” said Presentation Ball Chair Nancy Labadie. “Raising the visibility of our debs strengthens the Presentation Ball for the future. This is the DSO's largest fundraiser and that's very important.”
The 30th Annual Presentation Ball will be held on February 22, 2016 at the Meyerson Symphony Center where 43 debutantes will be presented.
The Presentation Ball was first held in 1987. More than $10 million has been raised for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through the annual event, which was created with the vision of long-time League member Tincy Miller, who chaired the first ball.
Founded in 1946, the mission of the DSOL is to support the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through service, education and fundraising activities. Since 1998 the League has contributed more than $13 million in support of the Dallas Symphony Association’s Community Outreach and Education programs, which help bring the wonder of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to thousands of youths and adults in the Dallas Metroplex.
Master Construction and Engineering donated the truck and trailer for the float and a portion of the banners was underwritten by Solid Signs.
