Sip, sip, hurray for the perfect fall get-away, just 2 hours from DFW!
Winnsboro Center for the Arts (WCA) invites you to a weekend celebration of artistic expression, delightful regional wines, culinary treats and live Texas music at our 15th annual Art & Wine Festival. This beloved event, a tradition for both locals and visitors to Winnsboro, features juried works from more than 40 talented artists from across the country and wines from a number of regional wineries. The event is FREE and takes place Friday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, November 2,from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on The Bowery in charming downtown Winnsboro. Winnsboro is just two hours from DFW and home to charming Bed & Breakfasts and weekend rentals on Lake Winnsboro!
This year’s event features art – paintings, sculptures, woodwork, jewelry, glasswork, photography, textiles and more – from professional artists locally and around the U.S. Regional wineries will be on hand offering tastings while food trucks and vendors will bring an array of East Texas cuisine and specialty treats. Texas singer/songwriters provide the soundtrack to the event.
The festival takes place on The Bowery in downtown Winnsboro, allowing guests to leisurely meander through Winnsboro’s Cultural Arts District, taking in its unique mix of shops, gallery exhibits, outdoor murals and eateries, all while enjoying a diverse array of art and wine.
In the heart of downtown is Winnsboro Center for the Arts, dedicated to offering educational programming, cultural experiences and entertainment to the residents of Winnsboro and the wider East Texas community. The center is a dynamic venue that hosts live music performances, theater productions, art exhibits, classes, workshops and literary events, like September’s Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering. WCA just broke ground on a new Learning Center which will house a new ceramics studio, music and art lessons, and much more.
“Our annual Art & Wine Festival is a testament to our community’s dedication to the arts and our commitment to bringing people together to celebrate our unique cultural landscape,” said Cyndie Ewert, event chair. “It’s the ideal way to enjoy a fall weekend –fine art, fine wines and live music, all set against a backdrop of cooler temps, picturesque piney woods, serene lakes and rolling hills.”
This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how National Endowment for the Arts grants impact individuals and communities, visit www.arts.gov. For more information about the event, visit the website.
