DALLAS – March 15, 2022 - Flamenco Fever presents the fourth annual Spring Flamenco Residency featuring Sol Koeraus “La Argentinita,” dancer, Mariano Manzella, guitarist and singer, Jorge Robledo, dancer, and Paco de Andrea, dancer, for two months of flamenco performances, workshops, and classes.

The two-month long Spring Flamenco Residency kickoffs with a Star Performance at the Latino Cultural Center featuring dancer Sol Koeraus. The New York Times said this of her dancing, “the dancer Sol, La Argentinita, harnessed the art form’s power with her seductively aggressive soleá in which her elegant carriage provided space for tension and relief.” Joining Ms. Koeraus on the stage will be Mariano Manzella, Luckie “Abejorro,” Julia Alcántara, producer and dancer, and members of the Flamenco Fever Dance Academy.

The Spring Flamenco Residency includes the 7th annual Flamenco de Mayo providing low-cost performances for festivals, restaurants, and schools that want to celebrate Hispanic culture around Cinco de Mayo.

The Spring Flamenco Residency culminates with Paella y Pasion on Sunday, May 29, 2022, featuring live flamenco performances, flamenco costumes and accessories market, and giant paella cooked on-site. Special guest artist, dancer Paco de Andrea, from Granada, Spain, will make his first appearance in Texas during the Residency.

“The Residency and Flamenco de Mayo bridge the access gap between traditional flamenco performances in formal venues and economically diverse local audiences who customarily have limited or no access to such venues. These family-friendly events provide beginning flamenco dancers, singers, and guitarists a relaxed atmosphere to perform and learn from more experienced artists,” said Julia Alcántara, founder of Ida y Vuelta Flamenco Dance Company.
