Last month Texas Monthly had the pleasure of welcoming two new members to the editorial staff. Both Texas natives, Allegra Hobbs and Owen Schwartzbard have been settling in to their roles as senior news and politics editor and senior video producer, respectively. Allegra Hobbs, a McKinney native, made her way to New York City after graduating from Pepperdine University. There, she worked at New York magazine, Study Hall, DNAinfo, and Brooklyn Paper. As a freelance writer, she contributed to the New York Times, the Village Voice, and Texas Monthly over the years. Most recently, she was managing editor at the Big Bend Sentinel.
