Each year, the Pantone Color of the Year sets the tone for design inspiration across fashion, beauty and interiors. For 2025, Mocha Mousse has taken the crown—and it’s no surprise. This earthy, refined neutral bridges warmth and sophistication, offering endless design opportunities in both traditional and contemporary spaces.
As a luxury interior designer, I see Mocha Mousse as a foundational hue that brings calm and complexity to a room. It’s soft yet statement-making, especially when paired with high-contrast or tonal palettes. Here are three elevated design themes that incorporate Mocha Mousse in ways that feel both current and dramatic:
For a dramatic and layered look, Mocha Mousse becomes the perfect counterpoint to deeper tones like navy blue, matte black or charcoal gray. Think velvet drapes in deep navy paired with a Mocha Mousse upholstered bench, or a smoky black kitchen accented with warm mocha cabinetry or casegoods. This combination exudes a high-end, cocoon-like ambiance that feels grounded and architectural.
Key Applications:
Mocha Mousse thrives in a tonal palette of beiges, taupes and warm ivories. This theme feels serene, curated and endlessly chic—especially in spaces that prioritize texture over color. A monochromatic living room with boucle-covered seating, a mocha area rug and brushed brass accents speaks to quiet luxury at its finest.
For clients drawn to warmth and organic textures, Mocha Mousse pairs beautifully with other earth tones. Think terracotta vases, olive green accents or ochre-hued throws—all set against a grounding mocha backdrop. This palette feels connected to nature while remaining refined, especially when layered with wood, stone and artisanal finishes.
Whether you introduce Mocha Mousse through casegoods, textiles or architectural finishes, its adaptability allows it to transform a space—offering both comfort and elevated style. It’s not just a color trend—it’s a design essential for the year ahead.

For most people, their investment in their home is one of their largest. When it comes to designing and adorning that home—ensuring it has all the features that make it personal, functional and uniquely theirs—the consensus is that hiring an interior design firm is a must. But are all created equal? We think not…
After meeting clients whose prior interior design experiences fell short of their expectations, we make it a priority to understand what went wrong. Common feedback includes: “The designer lacked a solid execution plan,” “Communication was poor,” and “There was no follow-through to achieve the promised result.” Once we undertake a project, clients are often amazed at their experience.
At Nicole Arnold Interiors, our commitment to client satisfaction is deeply rooted in our structured and proven interior design process. This meticulous approach ensures that each project not only meets but exceeds our clients’ expectations, resulting in spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Our process begins with an on-site consultation, where our design team engages in a comprehensive discovery session to understand the client’s goals, preferences and lifestyle. This initial meeting allows clients to gain insight into our vision for their project and establishes a foundation of trust and mutual understanding. We gather all the necessary information to prepare a detailed proposal tailored to the client’s needs.
In this phase, our team channels creativity and expertise to curate designs that align with the client’s objectives. We source materials, prepare detailed drawings and develop customized solutions, culminating in a professional presentation. This collaborative review ensures that our designs resonate with the client’s vision, setting the stage for a successful implementation.
Upon client approval, we manage all aspects of procurement and logistics, ensuring seamless execution of the design plan. Our meticulous attention to detail during this phase guarantees that the final delivery and installation are executed flawlessly, allowing clients to relax while we bring their vision to life.
The culmination of our process is a transformative installation that leaves clients delighted with their new spaces. Beyond the aesthetic and functional enhancements, clients appreciate the smooth and successful experience throughout the project, resulting in spaces they will enjoy for years to come.
By adhering to this structured process, Nicole Arnold Interiors ensures that each project is executed with precision and care, leading to outcomes that consistently satisfy and often surpass client expectations.

Minimalist design is all about creating serene, purposeful spaces that focus on quality, simplicity and intentional living. Here are five key principles, along with a few practical tips, to help you embrace minimalism in your luxury interior design!
Choose fewer, high-quality pieces that serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. Every item in the room should be carefully selected to create a curated, refined space.
Practical Tip: Invest in custom or high-end furniture that complements your lifestyle and has timeless appeal, ensuring each piece lasts and remains relevant.
Use open, airy layouts that allow for negative space, creating a sense of freedom and tranquility. Spacious rooms and seamless transitions enhance a calm, expansive feel.
Practical Tip: Consider incorporating large windows or glass doors that allow natural light to flow through the space, making it feel even more expansive.
Stick to neutral tones like whites, grays and soft earth hues to create a timeless, harmonious environment. Add subtle accents for personality, but keep the overall palette simple and balanced.
Practical Tip: Use textured fabrics in neutral tones (such as linen or wool) for added depth without overwhelming the space.
Focus on furniture and decor that blend beauty with utility. Hidden storage and functional design elements help maintain a clutter-free, streamlined look while remaining practical.
Practical Tip: Use multifunctional furniture, like storage ottomans or modular shelving, to minimize clutter without compromising on style.
Incorporate natural materials such as wood, stone and metal for warmth and timeless elegance. Add personal touches with carefully chosen art and decor that reflect your unique lifestyle, making the space meaningful and distinct.
Practical Tip: Choose natural stone for countertops or a signature marble feature to make a striking, lasting impression while maintaining simplicity.
If you’re ready to bring these minimalist principles to life in your home, we’re here to help! Contact us today to schedule a consultation and let our expert designers craft a space that reflects your vision, enhances your lifestyle and embraces purposeful elegance.

When considering interior design services, many clients wonder about the differences between retail interior design and working with an interior design firm. While both options can enhance a space, the level of customization, expertise and service varies significantly between the two.
Retail interior design is often associated with furniture stores or large chain retailers offering design assistance to customers. While this option can be beneficial for those with a limited budget, it comes with certain restrictions:
For clients seeking a high level of customization, attention to detail and a luxury experience, working with a private interior design firm is a better fit. Here’s why:
One of the greatest advantages of working with a professional interior design firm is the ability and desire to build an ongoing relationship. With a deep understanding of a client’s taste, past projects and home layout, a private designer can effortlessly continue the design journey without missing a beat. This ensures consistency and saves clients from repeatedly explaining their preferences to new retail associates.
Choosing between retail and private interior design depends on your needs, budget and expectations. Retail interior design may work if you’re looking for a quick, cost-effective solution. However, if you value a bespoke experience with limitless possibilities, a private design firm can elevate your space in ways that retail design simply cannot.
With over 16 years of experience, Nicole Arnold Interiors prides itself on offering personalized, high-end design services that stand the test of time. Our full-service interior design firm curates exceptional designs through a refined and proven process, creating client experiences that generate lifelong relationships and repeat referrals.
Whether starting a new construction project, renovating or simply refreshing your home, we are here to bring your vision to life with unmatched expertise and dedication.

When we think of luxury interiors, it’s easy to focus on aesthetics. But true luxury goes beyond beauty—it’s about creating spaces that are just as functional and enduring as they are stunning. A home or office that feels effortless to maintain, use, love and stands the test of time. Here’s how you can achieve interiors that make your heart sing every single day:
Gone are the days of sacrificing style for durability. Modern performance fabrics and indoor/outdoor materials blend beauty with resilience. Perfect for households with kids, pets or heavy traffic, today’s options offer softness, sophistication and strength. Forget the stiff, uninspiring textures of old; today’s Crypton and performance textiles feel as good as they look. Your interior designer can introduce you to an array of stylish, durable fabrics that will keep your furnishings looking pristine for years to come!
Convenience is the ultimate luxury, and smart technology makes it effortless. Imagine pressing a button to draw back blackout curtains, adjusting the lighting for the perfect ambiance or controlling your home’s climate—all from your tablet or a sleek remote. From automated shades to climate systems, pool controls and more, these features simplify life in the most luxurious way. A quick consultation with your designer can reveal the best high-tech solutions tailored to your needs.
At the heart of every exceptional design is personalization. Your space should feel uniquely yours, reflecting your personality, passions and purpose. Whether you want a spa-like sanctuary, a moody retreat or a vibrant space bursting with energy, your designer will help bring your vision to life. Custom seating, commissioned art or intentional color choices can transform your home or office into a space that resonates deeply with you. Every detail matters, and we love making your dream space a reality!
At Nicole Arnold Interiors, we’re passionate about creating practical, functional and beautifully personalized interiors that keep our clients coming back for more. Let’s collaborate on your next interior adventure—it’s time to love where you live and work!

Each year, Pantone unveils its Color of the Year, setting the tone for industries ranging from interior design to fashion, cosmetics and beyond. For years, experts have heralded brown as the “new black,” celebrated for its versatility and grounding presence as a nuevo neutral. This year, Mocha Mousse takes center stage, poised to redefine how we think about and use this timeless hue.
Paint remains one of the most accessible ways to introduce color into a space. Leading paint brands are already interpreting Mocha Mousse with their unique twists, leaning into plum-infused browns for added depth and richness. Here’s a preview of what’s hitting the mainstream market:
In fabrics, rich textures like mohair, velvet and silk dominate both interior design and fashion. These materials, paired with Mocha Mousse-inspired shades, add an elevated touch to any space or outfit. Upholstery, window treatments, bedding and accent pillows offer perfect opportunities to incorporate this sumptuous color into your home.
Unexpected applications, such as kitchen appliances, are also embracing this trend. Big Chill has introduced warm desert-inspired tones, offering a retro-modern way to incorporate Mocha Mousse into functional yet stylish spaces. Samsung’s Tuscan Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliances offer a bronze colorway which has a soft textured finish.
From paint to textiles and beyond, Mocha Mousse invites us to explore brown in a fresh, contemporary way, bringing warmth, depth and sophistication to every corner of our lives.

Traditional furnishings are making a bold comeback! Think “granny chic” with Americana colors, turned legs, rolled arms, sofa skirts and classic colonial shapes. From large-scale florals to trellis prints, these elements are all back, but with a fresh twist—simpler, streamlined lines replace the overly ornate designs of the past. Integrating one or two pieces can add a classic touch, even if you prefer a more eclectic style. We’re thrilled about this revival!
Also known as reeding or fluting, tambour accents were everywhere. Classic roll-top desks and tables were popular, and we also saw these textured details on the sides of tables, chairbacks and other insets in a modernized style. It’s a beautiful way to add character and sophistication to any piece
Stripes are back in a big way, from bold to subtle, small to large-scale patterns. Textured stripes add a rich layer to fabrics and furniture alike, often paired with interesting materials like rattan, grasscloth or coated linen. Even case goods featured striped layers for added dimension. Fluted wood and grainy surfaces bring further depth to items that highlight natural wood.
Leather detailing was everywhere, from desks to mirrors, bedframes and pillows. Cognac, navy and white dominated, with this trend adding luxurious warmth to many designs. Leather’s timeless appeal makes it an easy addition to almost any style.
Curves are softening interiors across the board. Upholstered furniture, case goods and even fabric prints are embracing rounded edges and scalloped details. Whether you prefer mod, mid-century, contemporary or traditional, curved lines bring a fresh and welcoming touch.
Two color palettes stood out: vibrant jewel tones (fuchsia, navy and rich yellow) and earthy, autumn shades. These colors appeared in a mix of plush textures like velvet, mohair, bouclé and tweed, creating a depth and richness that was hard to resist. Green, in particular, was everywhere, offering a bold pop of color.
A shift from standard cocktail tables, chat-height tables (20-25 inches tall) offer a more functional and inviting option for playing games, enjoying a drink or gathering comfortably. Seen as standalone pieces or grouped in varied heights, they add versatility and visual interest to any space. Mixing materials and finishes is a great way to make these tables a striking design feature.
Game tables are back in a big way, with styles designed for everything from Mahjong to shuffleboard. They’re perfect for creating a dedicated game zone in large living spaces or as an alternative dining area for gatherings. These tables add fun and functionality, and we’re convinced they’re only going to grow in popularity!
Twin beds are making a comeback! We finally have more options, with manufacturers reintroducing unique designs after years of limited availability. Whether for guest rooms, kids’ rooms or retro-inspired setups, twin beds offer a charming, versatile solution.
Cordless LED lamps are now available in a wide range of styles, from classic to modern, making them ideal for spaces without outlets. These are especially helpful for outdoor designs with limited lighting options. Our favorite? Waterford’s new collection featuring a cut crystal shade on a metal base—a truly elegant touch!
After taking in these interior design trends, which ones are you most eager to bring into your home? If you’re unsure, we’re here to help you explore ways to incorporate these new styles and make them your own!

A young, active family in Lewisville approached our design firm with the goal of transforming their kitchen. Known for hosting gatherings and celebrating special occasions, the kitchen was the heart of their home. However, the space was no longer meeting their needs, and they sought a comprehensive renovation to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
The family discovered our firm through an online search, drawn to our integrated approach that combines design and construction. This holistic process was particularly appealing as it eliminated the need for them to “hunt down and get various bids from all the different contractors.” The family was also attracted to our design style, which aligned with their vision for an updated, transitional space.
Our initial meeting involved a walkthrough of the existing kitchen, where the family shared their frustrations and outlined their desire for a more functional layout. They were open to creative solutions, stating that they were “pretty open to whatever options the design team came up with.” Their primary goal was to address specific pain points such as limited storage; small, choppy island surfaces; congested space, particularly when hosting gatherings; and lack of visual appeal.
The family provided some guidance on their stylistic preferences, leaning toward “updated traditional” elements and specific color tones. However, their main focus was on functionality: They eagerly shared, “Here are our problems with this space. We’re open to options. Let us know what you think would be the best fit based on how we use the space and how it’s not functioning for us.”
A standout feature of the renovation was the reconfiguration of the kitchen’s eat-in area. Originally confined to a small nook, we proposed relocating it to a newly created banquette space. This change not only improved the kitchen’s flow but also added a functional bar area with a wine fridge and additional storage. The family was thrilled with this out-of-the-box solution, describing it as “the absolute game changer.”
They added, “We wouldn’t have a bar area with a wine fridge and additional storage if we hadn’t done that. You really maximized the footprint through a completely different thought process.” They couldn’t wait to start!
Throughout the renovation, the family was impressed with the seamless collaboration between our design team and the construction team. They appreciated the clear and consistent communication, noting being particularly impressed that “everything had been thought through” before decisions were made. The family, who remained living in the home throughout the renovation, described their experience as “outstanding,” and praised the process for being surprisingly stress-free: “We’ve done a lot of remodeling within our house… and this was by far the least stressful. And it was our kitchen. So it should have been the most stressful. The fact that it wasn’t is kind of mind-boggling.”
The family couldn’t have been happier with the outcome, describing their experience as “Pleasant doesn’t really do it justice. It was outstanding.” They told us how much they appreciated how the design and construction teams worked in harmony, avoiding the common pitfall where “the homeowner is left constantly chasing things down with the construction side.” The family was particularly pleased with how any doubts or concerns were handled smoothly, without any pushback: “Whenever we or the construction team were in doubt of what we thought should happen, we would call the design team and they’d figure it out. There was no pushback, just solutions.”
This kitchen renovation is a testament to the success of our holistic design-build approach. By closely listening to the family’s needs and pain points, and fostering a collaborative relationship between design and construction, we were able to deliver a space that exceeded their expectations. The family now enjoys a beautifully transformed kitchen that not only functions perfectly but also serves as a stunning centerpiece for their home.
We think the latter…Using every cubic inch of this kitchen storage space was a key objective, so we had to get creative. With these options, this family can access their needs from hard to reach places with ease!
They highly recommend our design services, not only to other homeowners but even to other designers and proudly shared: “We recommend you even to our designer friends. Like, hey, if you have overflow and you don’t know where to send your clients, you can send them here because they’re fantastic.”
As our project concluded, they expressed their satisfaction and gratitude: “We love it! Everybody that comes through the house is amazed with the transformation. They’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh, it’s so open. It’s so different. We love it!!'”
The team at NAI is not only committed to delivering exceptional designs but also positive and stress-free experiences for our clients. This project demonstrates the transformative power of thoughtful design and seamless execution, tailored to meet the unique needs of this young, active family in Lewisville.

Accents walls aren’t just about paint…We always say, “In interior design, every room deserves a great focal point.” One of the best ways to achieve this is by highlighting an accent wall with a different finish. While paint is often the go-to for drawing attention to a key area—thanks to its budget-friendly appeal—there are plenty of more elevated options to consider when you want something truly unique. Here are a few of our favorites…
A classic…this has been around for decades and NEVER goes out of style…IF it’s the right paper! A great wallpaper can add depth, texture and loads of energy to a room just by hanging there. ???? Consider bolder colors, large-scale patterns or unique graphics to pack a punch. Conversely, soothing grass cloths in soft hues, understated linen textures, neutral-colored metallic cork or an abaca silk woven fabric on paper for a subtle shimmer…oooh! Now, we’re talking!! Accent a wall, a few walls, backs of bookcases or even a ceiling. We know no limits here!!
Many of you will easily recall using wood paneling or molding to detail a room, and in some cases, this classic approach still works well. Have you explored the various wood sheeting designs that capture the essence of the modern or mid-century modern looks? We love a textured wood design on a wall to give rich depth and texture without distracting the eye or overwhelming the space. For maximum impact, consider staining or painting a reeded wood veneer to match the same finish as the surrounding walls or cabinetry.
Never underestimate the power of a great tile to transform the entire mood of a room. Large-scale tiles are ideal for covering expansive spaces, while smaller mosaic designs can be stunning in more intimate areas. With endless options, the results can be truly breathtaking. Natural stone and porcelain are both excellent choices, and for an extra-large impact without the weight of stone, consider porcelain slabs to achieve maximum effect.
Faux finishes and decorative paint techniques have evolved far beyond their 90s origins, now offering endless possibilities. We’ve mastered linen crosshatch textures with graphic prints, mother-of-pearl or Swarovski crystal-embossed surfaces and even mica chips embedded in metallic paint for a touch of glamorous flair. High gloss, pearlized or metallic paint on ceilings and trim can create striking contrasts that bring your walls to life in unexpected ways.
Dreaming of the perfect accent wall for your home or office? Let us help you bring that vision to life. From selecting the ideal design to executing it flawlessly, we’re here to create a personalized look that will leave you breathless. Our trusted installers are the backbone of our success, which is why clients keep coming back and referring us to others. Let’s craft something extraordinary together!
