Summer Camp at Studio Bella for Kids is like no other summer camp in Dallas- We focus on surprises, fearless creativity, and fun traditions!

Studio Bella originated in a big backyard in East Dallas and has grown by leaps and bounds. We host a fabulous and well-loved summer camp that focuses on the whole child- friendships, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, confidence building, and more.  Our STEAM-based studio holds 3-4 summer camp sessions in our East Dallas studio. Each camp session is 2-3 weeks long and gives campers time to establish new friendships, let their creativity soar, and truly become comfortable in their surroundings.

Surprise? What surprise?! The theme of the week is never revealed until camp begins. Thanks to our fabulous curriculum designers, each week is unique and does not disappoint. With a drum roll, the theme is dropped, and the creativity starts. Other surprises include the treat of the week (awarded through friendly competition) and the Friday Fun Activity (there are no two Fridays alike).

Fearless Creativity
The fearless creativity is 15 years strong! We hammer, paint, hot glue, sculpt, sew, build circuits, conduct experiments, and invent. Through challenges, collaboration, imagination, and fun, Studio Bella campers have built cities with over 60 buildings, created 4th of July mini motorized parade floats, and participated in the Studio Bella Olympics in East Dallas.

Traditions
We have A LOT of fun traditions. Our traditions at Studio Bella create memorable experiences for every camper. Tie-dying is a favorite. There are many more traditions that campers love—too many to list.

If you think Studio Bella summer camp is a good fit for your camper, we invite you to visit our website: Studiobellaforkids.com.  There are four sessions in 2024, with the first session beginning after Memorial Day and running through August 2. We serve a complimentary breakfast and lunch. The fun (both summer and school year) can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
We can't wait to see new and familiar faces this summer!

Remember, when selecting a motorcycle accident attorney, do your due diligence. Make sure to conduct thorough research. Choose a professional who will advocate for your rights with the tenacity and skill each case demands.

Common Injuries From Motorcycle Accidents?

  1. Road Rash: This happens when sliding along the road surface after flying off the motorcycle, resulting in mild abrasions and severe skin damage. It can require surgeries and time off work.

  2. Fractures and Broken Bones: Common due to the impact force of a motorcycle crash, leading to broken arms, legs, ribs, or a busted pelvis.

  3. Head Injuries: Even with helmets, head injuries are common in motorcycle accidents. Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) can cause mild concussions to severe and life-threatening injuries.

  4. Spinal Cord Injuries Can cause paralysis or other permanent disabilities, depending on the severity of the injury.

  5. Soft Tissue Injuries: Damage to muscles, ligaments, and tendons can lead to long-term pain and limited mobility.

  6. Internal Injuries: These can include injuries to organs, including your liver, spleen, or kidneys. (often from blunt force trauma.)

  7. Facial Injuries: Even wearing a helmet, facial injuries like lacerations, fractures, and dental injuries are common in motorcycle accidents.

  8. Psychological Trauma: A motorcycle accident can also lead to psychological issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression.

  9. Wrongful Death: The risk of being killed in a motorcycle crash is far higher than for a traditional vehicle passenger. The victims include survivors in the decedent's immediate family.

Common Causes of Texas Motorcycle Accidents

These above lawyers and firms know the risks and benefits of working long hours and driving. A severe injury will cause you and your loved ones to take a tailspin. With these contingency fee motorcycle lawyers, you have legal representation for your car accident without paying a penny in advance. All five lawyers are committed to handling your accident claims in Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and any other locale.

Are you ready to speak with a motorcycle accident attorney firm working on a contingency fee basis? Many will pay for all the expenses accompanying your lawsuit in advance! That means you'll never owe any compensation for the damages until the case is over. We think these superstars want the best for their clients and their Yelp! Reviews support this concept.

Can You "Safely" Crash a Motorcycle?

Maybe. Although riders hope they won't crash, they must prepare and learn to reduce severe injuries from accidents. In future articles, we will discuss surfing your motorcycle to avoid death or disabilities.

Negligence and Motorcycle Accident Cases?

A top personal injury lawyer can help establish negligence in a motorcycle accident case. Every driver is urged to look for pedestrians and other drivers and keep a cushion of space. They are responsible for the consequences whenever someone's negligent behavior is evident. Even though their acts were not intended, negligence accident caused the accident. This means the liable party or their insurance company is on the hook. But like construction accidents, automobile accidents pay more with the right personal injury lawyers on your side.

Motorcycle accident claims require a top-rated lawyer, or you could leave money on the negotiating table. It's essential to consult a skilled motorcyclist lawyer as quickly as possible after crashing to build a solid case. Before signing any documents, you should consult one of the top 5 motorcycle lawyers for a free consultation.

How Long Do Motorcycle Accident Attorneys Take to Settle?

Even the best motorcycle accident lawyer will need time to build a solid case. It usually takes six months to a year for a Texas motorcycle accident to be settled. Sometimes, an insurer will resolve a severe motorcycle accident quickly. But usually, the first offer will be a lowball settlement. The adjuster hopes the motorcycle accident victim will be desperate. If they fail to hire a reasonable Texas motorcycle accident attorney, chances are they will get screwed.

A great lawyer will urge you to wait until the injury is assessed. Your injury attorney wants medical details. After all, legal professionals can't win without your help. Texas law will require evidence. So, if you wish for fair compensation, gather evidence like medical bills, police reports, camera footage, and anything else early.

For example, how will long-term medical treatment and time off work affect your career? Although most disputes are settled rather than by trial, sometimes they settle on the courthouse steps. So, it would help if you often went through time-consuming litigation. We found these top motorcycle lawyers to help motorcycle riders with personal injury lawsuits.

Lyric 24-25 Season Announcement

Lyric Stage, a theatre company dedicated to the development and preservation of the musical, announces its 31st season. The company will produce three shows at its intimate Lyric Studio Space: Forever Plaid - Plaid Tidings, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, and Jekyll & Hyde. Lyric Stage will produce the final production, Guys & Dolls, at the Moody Performance Hall in partnership with Turtle Creek Chorale.

In addition to the season, Lyric Stage will also produce a new series of free summer concerts on the lawn behind the studio space called Lyric Under the Stars. Shows will take place on June 22nd & 29th and July 13th & 20th at 8:30 p.m.

FOREVER PLAID - PLAID TIDINGS

November 29 to December 22, 2024 | Lyric Stage Studio

Lyric Stage opens its 31st season with this holiday classic by Stewart Ross. It will be presented at the Lyric Studios Space with both general admission and reserved café tables.

At first, Francis, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren't sure why they've returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are audience favorites, like their riotous three-minute-and-eleven-second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time, featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, as well as a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the "Day-O" in Excelsis! The production is rated G and is fun for the whole family.

LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR & GRILL

January 31 to February 23, 2025 | Lyric Stage Studio

To honor Black History Month, Lyric Stage will present Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill. The performance will be presented at the Lyric Studios Space with both general admission and reserved café tables.

In 1959, in a small, intimate bar in Philadelphia, Billie Holiday puts on a show that unbeknownst to the audience, will leave them witnesses to one of the last performances of her lifetime. Through her brilliant voice and sometimes haunting songs, one of the greatest jazz singers of all time shares her loves and her losses. The production is rated R.

JEKYLL & HYDE

March 28 to April 19, 2025 | Lyric Stage Studio

The third show is Jekyll & Hyde. Presented at the Lyric Studios Space and based on the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson, the performance features a thrilling score of pop-rock hits from multi-Grammy and Tony-nominated Frank Wildhorn and double-Oscar- and Grammy-winning Leslie Bricusse.

An evocative tale of two men – one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman – and two women – one, beautiful and trusting; the other, beautiful and trusting only herself– both women in love with the same man and both unaware of his dark secret. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind's most challenging medical dilemmas. Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde. The production is rated PG-13.

GUYS & DOLLS

August 15-17, 2025 | The Moody Performance Hall

The final show of the season for Lyric Stage is a co-production with the amazing artists from Turtle Creek Chorale presented at The Moody Performance Hall with a full orchestra and large cast

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys & Dolls ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks, and Olivier’s. The production is rated PG.

Scott Guenther, Lyric Stage’s general manager, said, “Lyric Stage looks forward to sharing these exciting productions with the community. Our talented actors and actresses are dedicated to entertaining you with compelling and engaging performances crafted under the guidance of Executive Producer Catherine Carpenter Cox.”

Gowns and curtseys were all the rage as 44 Symphony Debutantes took their bows at the 38th Annual Dallas Symphony Orchestra League Presentation Ball on Saturday, February 10 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. In a symphony of elegance and festive jubilation, the 2024 Debutantes took center stage and the spotlight was on the debs, their families, and dapper members of the Honor Guard.

Gracious Presentation Ball Chairman Kristin Cordiak welcomed the debutantes, their esteemed honor guards, and families.

“To the debutantes and Honor Guard being presented tonight, my greatest wish is you remember and carry these moments this evening and from the past season as the precious memories of family, friendship and music that they are, always,” said Kristin. “Please continue as the philanthropic leaders of tomorrow as we celebrate you and your families tonight. Keep the music in your hearts as that is the stuff of dreams.”

In welcoming those attending to the Meyerson, DSOL President Nancy Labadie reminded all of their shared mission, “I am tremendously proud to be a part of the greatest symphony orchestra in the country. Through the leadership of our innovative CEO Kim Noltemy and under the musical direction of Maestro Fabio Luisi, our Dallas Symphony delivers unparalleled musical experiences for all ages and engaging educational programs to the children of our city. These programs are not just adding to our cultural future, they are changing lives every day in everyday ways.”

The DSOL has been integral to Honorary Chairs Margaret and Barry Hancock, who wereasked to stand and be recognized. They had met when Margaret made her debut in 1992 and Barry was her Honor Guard escort. All of their children have participated

in the Presentation Ball. Daughter Mary Margaret was presented in 2016, son James was an Honor Guard escort in 2020 and daughter Katherine was presented in 2022.

Tradition runs deep and there were many families returning with a second debutante  including the Clay Smiths, the Scott Wheelers, the Adam Stiles, the Eric Gambrells, the Thomas LeVoyers, the Max Swangos, the David Harts, and the Glenn Thurmans.  Laura and Jason Downing witnessed their third daughter's debut, exemplifying the enduring allure of the Presentation Ball.

For the Honor Guard, tradition also runs deep with Vance Miller and Robert Peacock representing a third generation of dedication.

Emcee Stan Gardner formally introduced each debutante, and they were joined by an honor guard escort for the presentation.

There were many brother escorts for the debutantes, truly making it a family affair: Carson Hart, Bennett Handler, Mujin Kwun, Luke Gambrell, William Greening and Max Swango.

Celebrating their debutante Electra Wallace Ford were Kelli and Gerald J. Ford. Daffan and Doug Nettle along with Gayle Sands were parents of twin daughters presented. Other proud parents were Kristina and John Hallam, and Dena and Vaughn Miller.

Under the direction of Densil Adams and assisted by Mia Davis, the debutantes had perfected the Texas Dip bow which isan impressive, all-the-way-to-the floor full court bow.

After the presentation, music and dancing were followed by a formal seated dinner.

The Dallas Symphony Presentation Ball is an annual tradition that transforms each passing year into a symphony of unforgettable moments. This elegant evening not only showcases the city's cultural richness, but also lasting friendships are formed among its attendees with the bonds created during this special time lasting a lifetime for many families.

The 2024 Debutantes are: Helena Breland Bach; Erika Mae Batson; Mia Lane Blanton; Claire Elise Cahoon; Ripley Elizabeth Cooley; Kennedy Claire Downing; Electra Wallace Ford; Sarah Rose Gambrell; Ellie McClain Gidden; Catherine Lee Grayson; Camille Anne Greening; Meredith Elizabeth Hallam; Grace Soleil Handler; Caroline Parker Hart; Catherine Bradford Hunt; Isabella Ann Jackson; Ashley Elizabeth Jaynes; Ellen Taylor Jones; Minje Kwun; Emannuelle Grace LeVoyer; Claire Michael Levy; Riya Kaur Luthra; Elizabeth Myers Madison; Avery Pilar Moore; Finley Elizabeth Nelson; Day Gilmire Nettle; Lillian Susan Nettle; Mina Hiranmayee Raj; Bailey Erin Robirds; Courtenay Christianson Sands, Kathryn Bunker Sands; Caroline Robertson Smith; Sheridan Michelle Spencer; Caroline Story Stiles; Leslie Katherine Swango; Caroline Parker Teegarden; Payton Grace Thurman; Megan McKamy Dyer Underwood; Lauren Alexis Watkins; Charlotte Nicole Webb; Kelley Caroline Wheeler; Abigail Archer Willingham; Claire Anh Wooley; and Sophia Corina Yung.

The Presentation Ball, which was first held in 1987, is the largest fundraiser for the Dallas Symphony. This annual celebration, dreamed of by visionary Tincy Miller, has become a cornerstone of the DSOL's mission.

Since its inception in 1946, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League has embraced the mission to support the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through service, education, and fundraising, contributing over $22 million to outreach and education programs.

In the grand symphony of philanthropy and tradition, the 2024 DSOL Presentation Ball was a celebration of legacy, elegance, and the enduring spirit of giving.

Since the Kentucky Derby first ran in 1875, the traditional beverage associated with the 10-furlong race has been the mint julep. And there is no better place in North Texas to sip that bourbon-infused libation than Barrel & Bones, the North Texas craft barbecue specialists with an exceptional bourbon collection.

In honor of the Run for the Roses, all four Barrel & Bones locations will be offering mint juleps for only $5 all day long on Saturday, May 4. Of course, you can stay and watch the race, but the outlandish hats associated with the event are purely optional.

The Shelton School beehive installation occurred on Tuesday, March 25, introducing a colony of 10,000 bees to the campus.

In order to enrich students' learning experiences and promote environmental awareness, Shelton is partnering with Alvéole to get a fully operational beehive nestled on its campus. This initiative aims to provide students with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the critical role bees play in our ecosystem and the importance of conservation efforts.

Under the guidance of experienced beekeepers, students will have the opportunity to observe the bees up close, learn about their behavior and understand the intricate processes involved in honey production. Additionally, teachers plan to incorporate bee-related topics into various subjects, allowing for a multidisciplinary approach to learning throughout the divisions. Students will also be involved in creating the design on Shelton-branded honey jar labels. In addition, there will be beeswax candle-making. Lower School students collaborated on the construction of bee hotels made of bamboo and metal wire.

On March 26, Shelton second-grader Nora Grace Farmer proudly announced the chosen name for the Shelton Queen Bee: ElizaBee of the Shelton Bee Farm. The naming of the Queen Bee is sponsored by the Farmer family, including David, Barb, Justin, Ashley, Nora Grace, Emmerson and Holland. Thanks to the Shelton Parents' Association for making the beehive educational initiative happen.

Teachers Joe Mallick, Hunter Duesing and film students Brooks Hart and Payton Rudisill produced a video about the Shelton bee colony. Fifth-grader Yuval Tsaroya narrated the story
