About
Equipped with a business degree in marketing from the University of Texas, Elly Sachs Holder soon found herself “flying high” working in sales with American Airlines. At a young age, she was put in charge of sales for North and East Texas, resulting in her nomination for the New York Times and Sales and Marketing magazines’ “Most Successful Young Salesperson” awards.

American Airlines next recognized her creative marketing ability by having her direct all special events and sales promotions for “American Airlines Vacations.” Work assignments took her throughout the United States and Europe – from Innsbruck, Austria, to Lucerne, Switzerland. From Bordeaux, France, where she planned an event for more than 500 at a winery and chateau, to the heartland of England, where she produced an event at Kenilworth Castle.

If she sounds like a “jet-setter,” think again. The irony of Elly Holder, given her background, is her totally down-to-earth demeanor. Her focus is on the client’s needs – then and now – and she brings all of her education, energy, marketing and sales skills to serve buyers and sellers.

This fourth-generation Dallasite knows the area well and has a broad understanding of the neighborhoods, school districts, and total environment of the city. Both of her grandfathers were pioneer citizens of Old Preston Hollow, and both properties had horses. She grew up in one of them and remembers riding her horse up and down Meadowbrook Road! She has also lived in the Park Cities and currently lives in Preston Hollow with her husband and two boys.

A dedicated volunteer, Elly Holder has worked with the Junior League of Dallas, the Twice Blessed House, Baylor University Medical Center, the Hockaday Alumnae Association (she is a Hockaday alumn), and St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church. Her greatest passion is supporting organizations that promote organ donation.

She is also active in the parents associations of her children’s’ schools – currently Jesuit College Preparatory and The St. Marks’ School of Texas and in previous years at The Lamplighter School, Preston Hollow Presbyterian School, and The Parish Episcopal School.

In Elly’s free time she enjoys playing tennis and golf, needle pointing and, when possible, snow skiing and fly-fishing.
