"Experienced" hardly begins to describe the ability and talents of Daniel M. Mahoney. Dan was born and raised in Dallas where his family has roots back to 1915 and have been important business and civic leaders. Dan graduated from Hillcrest High School and Southern Methodist University with a BBA and majors in real estate, insurance and finance. Dan has pursued graduate studies in finance, real estate appraisal, real estate management, mortgage banking and real estate law. He became a licensed Texas real estate broker in 1961 but first pursued a career in residential and commercial mortgage banking business becoming a partner and principal officer of the company.
Following the sale of the mortgage company Mr. Mahoney started his own residential brokerage company in the Highland Park Village. Dan's company grew into a firm which had over sixty agents and an annual volume of sales in excess of $60,000,000. Dan managed the business, sold and managed real estate while continuing his interest in civic and charitable causes. He has served on several boards of civic and charitable causes with a special interest in the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, sponsor of the Byron Nelson Golf Classic which Dan has served in many capacities. Through his career he has and spent a lot of effort with the betterment of professional organizations. Dan is recently completed a four year term on the Board of Directors of the Greater Dallas Association of Realtors and has or is serving as chairman or member of many of the special committees of GDAR including Professional Standards, Property Management, Forms and Contacts, Government Affairs and Public Education.
Dan has been a member of the Appraisal Institute since 1969 with a earned designation of Senior Residential Appraiser (SRA), a member of the Real Estate Brokerage Managers Council with a earned designation of Certified Residential Broker (CRB) . Dan is also a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers, the Realtor Land Institute, Employers Relocation Council and other related real estate organizations. In his spare time he serves as the managing partner and chairman of two privately held oil and gas companies and sees after family investments.
Outside of real estate, which consumes a huge portion of his time, he enjoys fishing at their East Texas home at Coon Creek Club near Athens, short trips to see children (one on each coast), managing a family owned ranch near Aubrey, Texas, as well as wildlife and outdoor activities. Dan is a member of the Dallas County Club, the Dallas Petroleum Club and the Park Cities Club. Dan is married to Lindy Hill Mahoney who is likewise in the residential real estate business and is one of the very top producers in the Dallas marketplace.
