Galaxy Theatres Grandscape offers endless air conditioning, both classic theater and gourmet sip and snack options, all the summer blockbusters you’re looking forward to and a variety of other screenings perfect for an afternoon spent indoors. 

 

In addition to a variety of rotating foreign films, the theater located at the Grandscape development in The Colony is screening familiar favorites through its “Flashback Cinema” and “Summer Fest” programs all summer long. 

 

Summer Fest is offered July 12th through September 19th with varying showtimes. Tickets are just $2.00 for all ages for a rotating schedule of family-friendly films including The Lego Movie (July 12-18), Paw Patrol (August 9-15) Angry Birds: The Movie (August 23-29), and more. 

 

Flashback Cinema is screened July 13-31st. Check the theater’s schedule for showtimes. Tickets are $5.00 for screenings of Hollywood classics including The Mask (July 10), The Goonies (July 13, 14, & 17), Dirty Dancing (July 28 & 31), and more. 

 

Beat the heat and relax while watching family favorites or your favorite classics. Luxury reclining seats, friendly service, a full bar, snacks, and all of the popcorn you can handle are all part of the Galaxy Theatres experience.

Sheraton Dallas is celebrating National Tequila Day on July 24 with happy hour prices all day long on their signature Thorned Rose margarita, available at Open Palette and The Parlor. The Thorned Rose margarita is also featured on Dallas’ Margarita Mile.

Dallasites are invited to indulge in an evening of exquisite flavors and rare wines at Margaret’s within the JW Marriott Dallas Arts District Friday, July 12 in exclusive partnership with the Kelleher Family Vineyard in Oakville, CA.

The evening will begin with a conversation about the hyper boutique vineyard, established on a 16-acre property in 1994, with Valerie Kelleher Herzog, owner of the vineyard, Margaret’s sommelier Joel Tennyson and Executive Chef Jonah Friedmann, who has designed an elaborate five course menu inspired by the flavor profiles of six wines exclusive to the hotel and restaurant.

The event will begin at 6:30pm on Friday, July 12 at Margaret’s, located on the 11th floor of JW Marriott Dallas Arts District at 800 North Harwood Street. Tickets to the exclusive dinner are $300 per person.

The conversation will continue throughout the meal, highlighting the distinct characteristics of the local terroir influence the blends, and how these nuances harmoniously echo in the dishes created by Chef Friedmann.

“We are thrilled for guests to experience the flavor of these wines, so heavily influenced by the land on which they are produced, paired with our menu made with ingredients sourced within 80 miles of the hotel,” said Executive Chef Jonah Friedmann. “It’s the best of both hyper local experiences presented with the technique driven cuisine, precise service, and elegant presentation associated with fine dining of this level.”

Not available anywhere else in the state of Texas, bottles of the Kelleher Family Vineyards vintages will be available at winery retail prices. 

Among those offered with the meal are a 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon with an interesting history including eucalyptus trees installed as wind barriers to protect the vines and a 2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir created specially for one of the Kelleher family children’s nuptials, never before available outside of Napa Valley.

Building a Robust Life Science Ecosystem Panel BioNTX

BioNTX is hosting a panel event on Wednesday, July 17 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Texas Research Center to discuss the life science ecosystem in North Texas. The address is 5400 Legacy Dr, Plano, TX 75024.

The event is called, “Building a Robust Life Science Ecosystem: The Bridge Between Research, Clinical Trials & Manufacturing”. The panel features industry experts who will discuss how research, clinical trials, and manufacturing can come together to create a robust life science ecosystem in North Texas. It will also provide an opportunity to learn about the Texas Research Quarter project and tour the property.  

The panel will be moderated by Eric Danielson, Managing Director, Real Estate NexPoint and include panelists:

Chakras, Charms and Charcuterie Event Sheraton Dallas

Sheraton Dallas is hosting a “Chakras, Charms and Charcuterie” event on Saturday, July 13 from 10am to 1pm on their rooftop garden terrace, Herb ‘N Jungle. 

Immerse yourself in a day of spiritual exploration, unique trinkets and delicious charcuterie boards. 

Doors open at 10 a.m. and yoga will begin at 10:30 a.m. The yoga class will be hosted by Salus Mind Wellness Spa. After realigning chakras, stay for charm bracelet making and graze the Sheraton Dallas charcuterie spread of local meats, cheeses and fruits, while enjoying beautiful views of Downtown Dallas.

Fairmont Dallas welcomes three staff members to new positions including Lin Mandich being named Director of Catering Sales, Trevor Tkachyk as Director of Conference Services, and Jose Perez as Director of Banquets.

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, Lin Mandich will be responsible for creating and maintaining client relations, achieving revenue goals, and delivering exceptional food & beverage offerings for guests as Director of Catering Sales. 

 

Mandich brings over 20 years of experience in the luxury hotel and event industry, along with a genuine passion for creating unforgettable experiences. She previously held a position at The Plaza, a Fairmont-managed hotel, where she began her career as a management trainee.

 

“I am thrilled to return to the Fairmont family at Fairmont Dallas,” Lin Mandich said. “I look forward to working with the team and developing relationships with current and future clients.”

 

The Fairmont Dallas team was eager to promote Trevor Tkachyk to Director of Conference Services from his previous role as Director of Banquets. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, Tkachyk will oversee the Conference Services team for the 545-room hotel, which is home to several major annual conferences in Dallas. 

 

Tkachyk brings over fourteen years of experience to the position including experience from previous positions within the Fairmont portfolio. He previously served as the Food and Beverage Manager/Assistant Director of Banquets at Fairmont Dallas, Interim Director of Banquets and Assistant Director of Banquets at Fairmont San Jose, and Assistant Director of Banquets and Outlet Manager at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. 

 

“I am excited to continue my journey with Fairmont,” Tkachyk said. “I am eager to use my experience and leadership to help our team provide the best service for our guests and my team."

 

In his new role, Jose Perez will oversee the organization of banquets, ensuring implementation and consistency of the Fairmont standard. He most recently worked as Director of Banquets at Fairmont Washington D.C., and prior to that, he served as Food and Beverage Events Manager at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Perez brings over 19 years of hospitality experience and leadership to his new position.

EMPOWER, a nonprofit child welfare collaborative, is expanding its mission-driven team with dedicated, service-oriented professionals who have a passion for family wellbeing and making a difference in their community. EMPOWER is hiring permanency case managers, permanency support workers, permanency supervisors and crisis support workers across North Texas in the Metroplex East region, which includes Dallas, Grayson, Fannin, Collin, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis and Navarro counties.
