About
This spring the housing market rebounded strongly, swinging from a solid buyer's market to a sudden shortage of inventory. Driven by historically low interest rates and a stabilized price structure, buyers outnumbered sellers, making this summer and fall a great time to buy or sell a home. In fact, sales are so strong that many homes never make it to market—the very best are selling quickly in private transactions. Today, the key to selling a home is having it priced well and packaged ready for presentation by a Realtor with outstanding market knowledge.

For most people a home is more than a place to live and raise a family. It is often a family’s largest and best asset and an investment worthy of the greatest attention. Having the best possible guide in buying or selling this asset is critical. Amy Detwiler credits her success in helping homeowners buy and sell their homes to her background in commercial real estate and the work ethic she learned from her parents. A member of a large family, Amy grew up knowing how to work hard and understand the needs of others.

With a keen business mind, Amy started in commercial real estate brokerage and development in 1995, and she has represented some of the nation's largest companies with their real estate acquisitions. Amy hit the ground running when she starting selling residential real estate in 2005. She was named "Rookie of the Year" within the first six months of entering the business and has continually earned Top Producer status. She has consistently been voted by her clients as one of D Magazine’s Best Real Estate Agents in Dallas and recognized by D Magazine as one of the Top Producers in the industry.

The experience and the mentorship she enjoyed in the commercial real estate industry give Amy a high level of expertise in negotiating, buying, selling, financing, lending, leasing and managing real estate. “I was privileged to be mentored by some of the most respected people in real estate,” she said. These experts also taught her that being successful in real estate demands long hours, exceptional commitment to the client's interests, constant attention to detail and follow up.

Amy is a member of the exclusive Masters of Residential Real Estate, an organization made up of the top 1% of Dallas Realtors. She is also a member of The Network Council and other top Realtor networking groups. These relationships allow her to know the dynamic real estate market and find the right buyers for her clients.

Born in Louisiana and a graduate from Florida State University, she married a Texan and now lives with her family in the Park Cities. She is extensively involved in the community and particularly her children’s school, Episcopal School of Dallas. She enjoys working with a variety of community organizations, including Preservation Dallas, the Turtle Creek Association, Élan Circle of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, Park Cities Historic and Preservation Society and Habitat for Humanity. Amy has helped clients buy and sell homes in most Dallas neighborhoods but specializes in Downtown/Turtle Creek, the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Greenway Parks, Devonshire and Bluffview.
