Our keynote speaker is a great friend of CARE and the North Dallas
Community, Barbara Dixon Ryan. Barbara will speak about her experiences of living
with someone who has a substance use disorder and how she persevered through
the guilt, anger, and pain she was experiencing.

Barbara Dixon Ryan is an author, lawyer, substance use disorder counselor and peer
recovery specialist. In her latest book, When Someone You Love is Addicated to
Something You Hate, she explains how poor choices lead to organic brain changes
that often necessitate a different strategy.
