2026 NEW Fall Trends

Class is in session! This season it is all about college prep I'm seeing it everywhere! Think rugby polos, stripes, argyle, khakis, loafers, popped collars, and more. Very East Coast Ivy League inspired looks. You'll see lots of rich navy's, maroons, camels, and olive greens. The good news is that you do not have to go back to school to embrace this trend! So ditch the books and instead take some time to shop the new school style. These are trends that can be incorporated into your wardrobe all fall long, making it worth it to relive the good 'ole days via your style.

Collegiate Prep

A dress is a great piece to wear in order to incorporate this new trend. This sweater blouse dress is such a classic style and the perfect versatile dress. It comes in three color options, all gorgeous for fall. You can pair it with a plaid blazer or tights for a look that will last through fall and even into winter. I also love this blouse version of the dress. So chic! Other preppy dresses I'm loving includes this cable knit sweater dress and this rugby dress for something more casual. This argyle sweater dress is another great everyday piece for fall!

If you prefer separates, then you will love this rugby shirt paired with these purple mauve chino pants or jeans. It's a very cute and campus-y style. You may also want some layering pieces like a chic trench coat, blazer, or cardigan. You can wear these as is for a classic fall look or layer over a button down shirt to give you that perfect prep look.

Now what about shoes and accessories? A loafer, ballet flat, or fashion sneaker are all great options. I particularly love these leather ballet flats and these croc embossed flats. They're versatile and perfect for any of your fall styles. Totes are definitely having a moment as part of the collegiate style. This brown leather tote is so chic and gives you that elevated college look. As for other accessories, you need a headband and a silk scarf. It adds that statement piece you need!

What to Wear When Traveling: Chic & Comfortable Outfit Ideas

We all want to be comfortable when traveling, but that doesnt mean you have to sacrifice style! Whether youre catching a flight, heading out on a road trip, or simply have a long day on the go, the right pieces can keep you comfortable while still looking put together. MERSEA always has the best combinations of easy and comfortable travel looks that are always chic. Ive shared my love for MERSEA before, so I always love sharing new travel favorites from them. Today let's look at some pieces that you will wear not only for traveling, but all season long.

The Chic Travel Outfit Formula

When it comes to travel outfits, I like to keep things simple: comfortable separates, easy layers, and sneakers. A coordinating, monochromatic set is one of the easiest ways to look chic without putting much thought into your outfit. A column of one color is always flattering and elevated, even for something like loungewear! This is why I love the Frenchie collection in their new Bone color. It's a great neutral that looks good on everyone. Plus it's the perfect shade for all seasons. But I'm also loving their Espresso shade for fall!

Next, choose the top that best fits your style. Labor Day Weekend Ready & Sales Round-Up

Labor Day Weekend is officially here! Praise Be! Are you staying home for LDW or traveling? Pete and I are currently on a European adventure and very much enjoying the cooler temps. Be sure and follow our trip here. If you are wanting to plan a last minute road trip, check out my favorite Texas travel destinations for ideas. Today Im sharing some white items and pieces that can not only be worn over Labor Day Weekend, but also afterwards. Just because summer is over does not mean you have to ditch all of your white clothing pieces. I wear my white jeans all year long! That rule about not wearing white after Labor Day is totally outdated. These pieces are especially great for transitioning from summer to fall. How to Transition Your Summer Wardrobe Into Fall

Overall, the easiest way to take your favorite summer pieces into fall is to add layers, fall textures, and darker tones to add length of season to them. It's all about navy's, browns, and deeper jewel tones. You can also add leather accessories to give your look a more fall-textured look. This allows you to continue to wear items you love, while still feeling like fall. This is especially relevant in Texas, where it's summer weather well into October. Here are some tips for those items you aren't quite ready to stop wearing yet:

White Jeans

You can absolutely continue wearing white jeans after Labor Day. The key is to pair them with darker colors and fall accessories. Try white denim with a navy, camel, or chocolate brown top, like this navy short-sleeve cashmere cardigan. It's a great piece to make you feel like fall without getting too hot.

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts continue to be a fall staple, especially for activities like a football game or day at the fair. Keep your denim shorts in rotation while it's still warm, but pair them with a lightweight sweater and fashion sneakers instead of a tank and sandals. This striped sweater and these Veja sneakers paired with these denim shorts create the perfect and easy transitional look. When temperatures drop, you can even wear the same sweater with jeans.

Summer Dresses

You may be thinking that you can't wear a white dress into fall. Not true! Add a layer like this denim jacket to instantly make your look for fall-ready. This allows you to wear your white dresses for a longer period of time. Bonus is that most white dresses are currently on sale for Labor Day, so it's a great time to invest in a good one.

Sleeveless Tops

There's no need to put away your sleeveless tops either. Wear them with jeans and a lightweight blazer or cardigan. This will add the lifespan by months! This is also an easy option when the fall mornings are cooler but afternoons are still quite warm. I'm all for a draping-the-cardigan-over-the-shoulders look. It's always chic!

Linen Pieces

I feel similarly about linen pieces. There is no need to fold up your linen pants and linen tops until next year. As we transition out of summer, wear them separately with denim, like jeans with a linen top or a denim jacket with a linen pant. You can also add leather accessories so that you have more of a fall feel. Like I said before, the temperatures are still scorching in Texas, so I want to wear linen as long as possible to stay cool.

Summer Accessories

As you can see, I'm passionate about wearing your pieces for longer than the traditional "fashion rules" allow for. The same things goes with white accessories and summer-themed pieces. For instance, this white tote bag is a super chic neutral bag that can be used year-round. Another piece that is a cute added accessory for early fall are these mother of pearl fish earrings. It adds a chic statement to your look. And of course, sunglasses should be a wardrobe staple year-round.

Outdoor Entertaining Pieces

Although summer is coming to a close, you may still be entertaining outside. Some pieces I love include this fish ceramic serving platter, these eyelet linen napkins, and this bamboo cocktail triple server. Just add these striped outdoor glasses and you're ready for an outdoor happy hour or dinner al freso.

Today let's do a segment called Foster Favorites! This is a curated list of things that I am loving, craving, and wanting. I wanted to focus on some early fall trends to look out for that I am totally falling for. Maybe it will help me take my mind off the 105 temps in Dallas i August! Everyone needs a great dress for fall. One dress I am loving is this maxi shirtdress. The style is so chic and elegant, plus the olive green color makes it perfect for fall. TGIF! Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? I know some of you have already started the school year. Is it just me or does it seem way too early? Today I wanted to share a few late summer trends in case you need a little late-summer closet refresh. We are in that odd season where we're going back to school, but it's still 100 degrees outside. The key is to invest in pieces that you can wear into early fall. These are also great pieces for any upcoming trips or Labor Day Weekend plans.

When it's hot outside, I love to just throw on a cute dress! For something elevated, this printed maxi dress is a gorgeous option. I love the unique pattern and classic style. I am actually wearing it to an event this weekend! It is such a chic style that you can dress up or down. Pair it with these slide sandals and this raffia clutch for the perfect elevated weekend look. For an effortless beach-y vibe, just add these shell stud earrings and gold shell necklace. Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans: A Luxury Weekend Getaway Guide

New Orleans is one of those cities that you can visit over and over again and still discover something new. The food, the music, the architecture, the cocktails, the history honestly, whats not to love? So when Pete and I were ready for a quick weekend getaway, New Orleans was an easy choice.

For this trip, we stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, and it turned out to be the perfect home base for exploring the city while still giving us a beautiful place to retreat to at the end of the day. The luxury propertyis located ideally on the beautiful Mississippi River Walk and the foot of Canal Street, close to everything!

Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans

The hotel is steps from the French Quarter, the Warehouse/Arts District and the Central Business District, and there is even direct access to the streetcar line. The airport is approximately 20 minutes away, making this a very easy weekend escape.The Four Seasons occupies the riverfront tower that has become a major part of the New Orleans skyline. The overall design feels polished and sophisticated while still embracing the personality of New Orleans. This is definitely a luxury hotel, but it doesnt feel stuffy. There are beautiful social spaces, a lively lobby, gorgeous dining, a fabulous bar and plenty of places to simply sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Rooms

The guest rooms and suites are spacious and contemporary, with a residential feel that makes it easy to settle in for a few days. One of my favorite things about staying at a luxury hotel in a city is having a place to escape to after a full day of sightseeing. New Orleans is a sensory overload in the very best way music everywhere, people everywhere, amazing food and lots of activity so coming back to a calm, comfortable room is a definite plus. And yes, the Mississippi River views are pretty spectacular! The hotel also offers 24-hour in-room dining, which is exactly what you want when youve had a long day or simply want a quiet night in.

Cabana and Pool Time at Four Seasons New Orleans

If youre visiting New Orleans when the weather is warm, be sure to make time for the pool. The fifth-floor pool deck overlooks the Mississippi River and features a 75-foot crescent-shaped pool, a spa tub and private cabanas. It is the largest hotel pool in New Orleans and has both shallow-water sun shelves and plenty of loungers for relaxing.I love building a little downtime into a city getaway. You dont have to see absolutely everything. Give yourself an afternoon to enjoy the pool, order something poolside and soak up the New Orleans sunshine. This is where we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in a Cabana, complete with champaign, snacks, TV and much more. The perfect spot to unwind!

The Spa

The Spa at Four Seasons is designed around the New Orleans bon vivant lifestyle, combining French beauty techniques with modern technology. The spa has eight treatment rooms as well as steam and relaxation lounges.If youre planning a girls trip, anniversary weekend or just a much-needed escape with your husband, I would absolutely add a spa treatment to the itinerary. Because vacation should include a little pampering! We enjoyed a 60 minute couples massage and then spent a little time relaxing in the steam sauna.

Restaurants on property

You really dont have to leave the hotel to have an amazing meal. Four Seasons New Orleans has two signature restaurants plus the glamorous Chandelier Bar.

Miss River is the hotels signature Creole restaurant, and this is where you can really lean into New Orleans flavors. The restaurant serves elevated versions of Louisiana favorites, with bold Cajun flavors and local ingredients. Menu highlights include duck and andouille gumbo, clay pot dirty rice and the famous whole buttermilk-fried chicken.

For a special dinner, head to Chemin à la Mer, the Four Seasons steakhouse overlooking the Mississippi River. The restaurant is led by Chef Donald Link and combines a classic steakhouse experience with Louisiana and Gulf Coast influences. There is an impressive oyster bar, Gulf seafood and premium steaks, including A5 Japanese Wagyu.

Then theres the Chandelier Bar, which is reason enough to stop by the lobby. The bar sits beneath a custom chandelier made with 15,000 crystals and celebrates the history of New Orleans cocktail culture. Youll find classic cocktails like the Sazerac, French 75 and Brandy Crusta alongside creative modern versions. Pop in for a drink before you head out to enjoy Nola.

Things to Do in New Orleans for a Weekend Getaway

French Quarter

Of course, you cant come to New Orleans and not explore the French Quarter. Spend a few hours simply wandering. Look at the beautiful iron balconies, colorful buildings and courtyards. Walk along Royal Street for antiques, art galleries and shopping, and make your way to Jackson Square. Jackson Square is one of those quintessential New Orleans photo spots, with artists, performers and the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral creating the classic New Orleans backdrop. Shop and stroll Magazine Street, Bourbon Street and more. Be sure to pop in to two of my favorite stores in New Orleans - Sue Sarot and Leontine Linens. Both are exquisite!

Café Du Monde

Head to Café du Monde for the classic combination of powdered-sugar-covered beignets and café au lait made with coffee and chicory.Yes, it is touristy. Yes, you should still do it. Go early if you want a more relaxed experience, and prepare to get powdered sugar everywhere. Thats part of the experience!

Live Jazz at Preservation Hall

New Orleans and jazz are inseparable, so carve out at least one evening for live music. Preservation Hall in the French Quarter is one of the most iconic places to experience traditional New Orleans jazz. It is intimate, historic and focused on the music. And dont stop with just one song or one venue. Music is everywhere in New Orleans!

The National WWII Museum

If you love history, put the National WWII Museum on your itinerary. Located in the Warehouse District, the museum tells the story of the American experience during World War II through immersive exhibits, artifacts and personal stories. It has expanded into a seven-acre campus with multiple pavilions.This is not a museum you can casually breeze through in 30 minutes. Plan several hours if you want to really experience it. The current New Orleans tourism guide recommends allowing four to six hours.Even if youre not a huge history buff, I think its worth making the time. We LOVED the museum and could have spent all day there!

Ride the Streetcar

One of my favorite ways to see a city is by using its public transportation especially when the transportation is part of the experience. New Orleans historic streetcars are a fun way to get around and see neighborhoods beyond the French Quarter. The official New Orleans tourism guide also recommends a streetcar ride as one of the classic first-time experiences. For a weekend trip, this can be an easy way to add another neighborhood to your itinerary without spending the entire afternoon in a car.

Suggestions from my followers/subscribers

A long weekend is simply not enough time to get it all in and we will certainly be back. Here are some great suggestions from my #TanyaTribe that I want to include. We had time to have lunch at La Boulangerie which was fabulous and dinner at Brennan's. Pete will always make this a stop due to the Turtle Soup. Might we also suggest Ralph's, La Petite Grocery, Audubon Park, Commander's Palace, Carousel Bar, Lafitte's, Parkway Tavern, Court of Two Sisters and visit the cemetaries.

Walk the French Quarter. Eat the beignets. Listen to jazz. Take a streetcar. Order the cocktail. Have the second dessert. Thats what a New Orleans weekend is all about. If youre looking for a quick luxury getaway that feels like a real vacation without requiring a long flight, put New Orleans on your list. I think youll love it as much as we did.

I know summer is rapidly coming to a close, but that does not mean your summer tan has to! Today I want to look at easy ways to keep your tan going year-round. It's also a great way to stay tan if you want to avoid the scorching heat. Since Im always on the hunt for the perfect bronzed look but without the UV rays, Ive tested dozens of options and rounded up the best self tanners for 2026 that are streak-free, natural-looking, and perfect for any occasion. From buildable drops to express mousses, theres something here for everyone. Lets dive in!

For those of you who have not been with me for 12+ years that I've had this blog, you might want to read this blog post about my skin cancer scare. It is still the blog post that resonates the most with my readers and the one that people actually stop me to discuss. Many of you told me your own personal journey about going to the dermatologist and taking care of your own spots that you discovered after you read my blog post. Today we will look at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale best of home and gifts. The home collection is amazing this year, so take advantage of these selections. TIP: This is the perfect time to stock up on hostess gifts, birthday gifts or even get a head start on Christmas gifts (yikes!) and save them in your gift closet. You will always be prepared. As a general rule, I always get items that I use all year long. If you know you're going to use them anyways, why not get them on sale?

NSale Home & Gifts

Even when it's not the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, Nordstrom is my go-to location to quickly find anything I need. I think people often forget that Nordstrom also has an incredible HOME and GIFT department. These are perfect for my home and also great to give as gifts!

Some of my favorite home items are travel items! This is the best time to update your luggage game. This duffle bag is great quality and all for only $94. I also recommend this Tumi carry-on luggage (Reg $795/Sale $549). Tumi is the brand of luggage I use. It is a great investment! You can even get a leather luggage tag (Reg $75/Sale $49) or a travel jewelry case (Reg $25/Sale $15) on the sale, both of which make great gifts.

This is also a great time to stock up on everyday home items, like this towel set (Reg $109/Sale $72) or this luxury sheet set. You can also find everyday items like this luxury cleaning essentials set (Reg $80/Sale $49) on the sale. Luxury hand soap (Reg $110/Sale $58) is another great gift for everyone and a must-have for your home.

Another great home and gift item on the sale are these Nest diffusers (Reg $130/Sale $78). I always have Nest candles in my home, and this is the next best thing. Volupsa candles (Reg $38/Sale $24) are always a good buy and make for good gifts to have on hand.

You can also find tons of great kitchen items to elevate your kitchen decor or add new appliances like this cold brew machine (Reg $695/Sale $465) or this Our Place Wonder Oven (Reg $325/Sale $242). I also love the NSale's drinkware selection, like this colorful tumbler set (Reg $71/Sale $47). Another favorite that I own are the Eli Home cutting boards. These are great cutting board sets that are high-quality and dishwasher safe.

The sale also has an amazing selection of throw blankets. This Cozy Earth faux fur throw blanket (Reg $248/Sale $149) is new to the sale and SO good. Trust me, it's worth the price! This Ugg throw blanket is another great option for under $50! It would also make a great gift. This 'Ciao Bella' throw blanket (Reg $210/Sale $139) is also so cute, plus it doubles as a towel.

Athleisure and More: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Before we get started, I want to remind you that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale prices do not last! After the sale ends on August 9, the price will go back to the original. None of these items will permanently be on sale! I also want to note the brands that sell out QUICKLY:

They're both easy to throw on for athletic activities or just a casual daytime look. It's also a good time to stock up on leggings like these 7/8 high waisted leggings (Reg $79/Sale $49). Shorts are another item that sells out quickly. These Vuori shorts (Reg $74/Sale $54) are super cute and at a great price. If you want an amazing lounge pant, then you will love these Spanx AirEssentials wide leg pants (Reg $120/Sale $78) that I'm wearing above. I own them in black and chocolate brown and wear them all the time, especially when traveling. They also have Spanx AirEssentials shorts (Reg $68/Sale $45) on the sale this year, which I will be adding to my cart. Pair them with the Spanx AirEssentials half zip sweatshirt (Reg $128/Sale $85) for an everyday athleisure look. Zella also has many great jackets on sale this year, like this 3-in-1 trench coat (Reg $199/Sale $132) and this piped half zip pullover (Reg $99/Sale $65).

Don't forget about all of the amazing athletic accessories that are on sale. This crossbody bag (Reg $78/Sale $57) is super cute and great to have year round. It's also a great time to stock up on sports bras, athletic socks and hair ties!

Happy SATURDAY! Today starts PUBLIC ACCESS. That means everyone gets to shop, no matter if you're a cardholder! All of my selections are in the drop-down menu on my homepage. So far we have covered WOMEN'S, UNDER $100, and UNDER $50 and today's focus is BEAUTY. Y'all...Nordstrom Anniversary Sale beauty exclusives are SO good this year. They are offering so many of my all time favorites. My opinion is, if they are products you regularly use, why not get it on sale? It is the perfect time to stock up! The beauty exclusives are always so good and sell out quickly, so if you see something you love, dont delay.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Best of Beauty

Beauty Tools

Let's start with some beauty tools. When thinking of tools, I tend to think mirrors. The Simplehuman Sensor Mirror (Reg $200/Sale $150) is a wonderful mirror that I own. It has 5x magnification and lights up automatically as your face approaches. I love how the light simulates natural sunlight!

Hair Care

There are some amazing haircare options you'll want to act on! Some amazing hair tools are the T3 hairdryer (Reg $209/Sale $140), the T3 Airebrush (Reg $149/Sale $99), and the T3 curling iron (Reg $159/Sale $107). If you're looking for a good straightener this NSale, I recommend the T3 straightener (Reg $199/Sale $133). The Dyson hairdryer (Reg $549/Sale $439) is another fantastic sale item. It is my everyday hair dryer.

Eyelash and Eyebrow Serum

I can't mention NSale beauty favorites without mentioning NeuLash Brow Conditioning Set (Reg $170/Sale $85). So good! Another favorite is the RevitaLash Advanced Conditioner duo set (Reg $200/Sale $100). If you want to thicken your lashes, this serum is for you. I use the serum every night before bed and it really works! The key is that you have to use it daily, so make it part of your nighttime skincare routine.

Make-Up

My everyday Charlotte Tilbury Make-Up are all on major sale! I use their mascara as my regular mascara and rotate it with Grande Cosmetics lash set ($131 Value, Sale $69), which is also on the sale. Bobbi Brown is another popular brand with markdowns on all of their popular products. You can also get great deals on lipstick sets, like the MAC Soft Lip Combo ($50 Value, Sale $33). Don't forget to take advantage of brush sets on sale, like this Hourglass Make-Up Brush Set ($220 Value, Sale $146). You will also want to get this Lancome Bi-Facial Eye Make-Up Remover Gift Set ($108 Value, Sale $60). It is the best eye make-up remover!

The Odyssey

OK, first things first. Our son, P.J. and I got to attend the Dallas press screening of The Odyssey on Monday night. It opens nationwide in theaters on Friday, July 17 and we highly recommend it! It's the story you're probably are familiar with as it was on your reading list in high school. - Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey. After the Trojan War, Odysseus faces a dangerous voyage back to Ithaca, meeting creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus, Sirens, and Calypso along the way. Writer, director and producer Christopher Nolan does epic masterpieces like no other director. The entire film is shot on 70mm IMAX and we highly recommend seeing it in an IMAX movie theater. This is a big screen film where the sound and music help take you on Odysseus' 10 year journey home. You might know this director from his other work - Interstellar, The Dark Knight (part of the Batman trilogy), Oppenheimer, Dunkirk, Inception, and more. We've long been fans of his work and this film ranks as one of his best. Click HERE to watch the trailer. Get out and go see it in a theater this weekend!

NSale Under $50

There are many great sweaters for under $50, and this crewneck sweater (Reg $59/Sale $38) is one of them. I also love this mockneck sweater (Reg $79/Sale $49) for a flattering, lightweight sweater for fall. This sleeveless mockneck sweater (Reg $69/Sale $49) is another classic style.

This is a good time to stock up on nice bras and underwear! It's something most people forget about, so this is your reminder. I personally love Hanky Panky underwear.

Under $100: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale AMBASSADOR EARLY ACCESS

If you are an AMBASSADOR card holder then today is your day to shop! Yesterday we looked at women's fashion, so today let's look more specifically at all of my women's favorites under $100. Even if you cannot shop yet, this is a great time to save the items you love to your wishlist. That way, you can have a quicker shopping experience and make sure you get everything you want. We update this tab and drop down menu all the time. There are so many amazing SHOES under $100 so today I focused on shoe favorites as well as listed some of my favorite affordable styles!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Under $100 Favorites

A must-have item for under $100 are Ugg slippers. They are so comfortable and they make great gifts. Plus, they come in several cute color options.

Slingbacks are another great find under $100. These Nordstrom pointed toe slingbacks (Reg $89/Sale $59) are versatile and chic. I love the textured color options. These Sam Edelman kitten heel slingbacks (Reg $150/Sale $89) are another wardrobe staple that you will wear on repeat! They come in about a dozen color choices, so you might as well get them in multiple shades.

There are so many great loafers on the sale this year, so I especially love options under $100. These Nordstrom loafers (Reg $119/Sale $69) and these Sam Edelman loafers (Reg $150/Sale $99) are two noteworthy styles that come in a bunch of colors.

Dolce Vita shoes are super cute this year. I'm loving these woven flats (Reg $150/Sale $99) and these Mary Jane flats (Reg $150/Sale $99). I also think Steve Madden shoes are great this sale. These perforated Mary Jane flats (Reg $129/ Sale $89) are a must buy.

Getting a pair of Adidas is a must. I love the cute color combos this year.

This is a reminder that items sell out FAST. I did my best to highlight items that seem to have fuller stocks, but please be patient with me if items have sold out. We still have over three weeks to shop! This is a great time to stock up on classic pieces like cashmere, jeans, shoes, and handbags. The Nordstrom Made collection has lots of quality pieces, many of which are under $100.
