What I Packed for Two Weeks in Greece and Turkey

Good morning! ICYMI ... Pete and I were on a Silver Sea cruise that traveled to Greece and Turkey for the past two weeks! This was the 12 day cruise of a lifetime. I will give you a full blog post detailing the trip itinerary next week, but in the meantime I thought I would share what I packed for two weeks in Greece and Turkey. I have daytime looks, evening dinner looks, as well as what I wore for travel days. Not traveling anytime soon? No problem. These looks are perfect anywhere this spring.

Daytime Looks

Let's start with a great daytime look perfect for a sunny day out exploring. This ruched gingham dress (size S) is so pretty and perfect for spring! I styled it with a cable knit sweater, sandals, and a yellow handbag for a pop of color. I'll live in this dress all summer long!

This ribbed Spanx half zip and wide leg pant loungewear set (size S) was perfect for a day out walking and exploring. I also wore it for our long travel day. I featured this look as well as other great travel looks here. Y'all, its so soft!

It's all about the layers for this trip! As a base layer, I styled this linen button down top with these jeans (size 4) and Adidas sneakers for walking. I layered this cashmere travel wrap for an easy remove-able layer for a day of exploring. Plus, its such a great accessory on the plane when you get cold. It comes in lots of colors.

The perfect look to take us from a day of walking straight to happy hour! This linen shirt (size S) and khaki pants (size 4) with these sneakers was a perfect combo. I layered with this denim jacket and finished off the look with my new orange leather crossbody.

It wouldn't be a cruise without a spa and a lovely whirlpool. If you don't already have a Hunza G swimsuit, you need one! They're so flattering and give you great tan lines. Plus, it's one size fits all! I have this one in bubblegum pink too.

Greece was a little chilly this time of year, so layers were a must. For an easy monochromatic look, I paired this white cable knit sweater with these white wide leg jeans (fit TTS) and a white hat. I finished off my look with these sneakers and a denim jacket for an extra layer.

For another layered look, I swapped my white jeans for my khaki pants and wore them with Adidas sneakers. I wanted an extra layer, so I styled my sweater over this linen button down top. Mixing and matching is essential for efficient packing!

This look was perfect for a rainy day full of walking! I styled these sweatpants (size S) with a white tee, denim jacket, and my Adidas sneakers. I finished off the look styling an Hermes scarf as a necktie.

Classic and chic, this was a great look for a day on the ship. I styled this striped button down blouse with these denim pants and slide sandals.

The cutest set for an easy daytime look. I wore this blue tee with this linen skort and this stitched cardigan (all size S). These pieces are great for mixing and matching throughout traveling.

Dinner Looks

I cannot get enough of this yellow floral maxi dress (size S). It is so elegant and the perfect style for spring and summer. I paired it back with this yellow cardigan (size S) and a yellow handle bag.

A striped shirtdress (size 6) is a classic piece for evening. I styled it with my new Chanel slide sandals and a coin necklace to add an elegant touch. I'll wear this all summer. So stylish and easy.

This striped shirtdress (size S) is so chic! I love how it looks like a shirt and skirt combo, but really it is an attached dress. It's so unique and flattering and was perfect as an evening look. I styled it with this yellow handbag and these statement earrings. The dress also comes in blue.

Elegant and feminine, this floral maxi dress (size S) was the perfect evening look for a lovely dinner event in Istanbul. I styled it with this blue stitch cardigan (size S), sandals, statement earrings, and this yellow handbag.

Ok how stunning is this blue and pink pinstripe maxi dress (size S)!?! Talk about a showstopper! It was the perfect dress for an elevated evening look. I styled it with these strappy silver heels and these chandelier statement earrings.

I have to tell you about this floral eyelet dress (size S). Not only is it a dress, but it also comes with shorts, giving you the option to wear the dress as more of a duster. So chic! I paired it with these woven Mary Jane flats and my coin statement necklace.

This printed mini dress (size S) is a great daytime to evening piece. I will definitely be wearing it all spring!

An embroidered dress (size S) is always a good idea in Greece! I loved the color and style of this one. Plus, I love that it has long sleeves for breezy nights at sea. I styled it with these heeled sandals and statement earrings. This dress runs large.

Linen is the way to go for an easy daytime to dinner look. This striped linen shirtdress (size S) is so cute and flattering on any body type. I styled it with these bangles and sandals for a chic look.

Another cute and easy daytime to dinner dress is this tired chambray dress (size S). It's so versatile, making it perfect for travel.

Easy Travel Day Looks

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice Easter holiday weekend. Summer is just around the corner, so that means many of you need to start your packing lists. Whenever we take trips, I get so many questions in regards to what to wear. Travel outfits are definitely a challenge, so I thought I would share comfortable yet put together looks for traveling this spring and summer. The key is to look cute but also feel cozy!

Travel Day Style Ideas

I love this Spanx half zip and wide leg pant set (size M) in a lighter neutral for spring and summer travel. Plus, it is made out of a cozy ribbed material that gives it an elevated look. It can easily take you from the plane to exploring the town. I paired it with these sneakers (my newest go-to travel shoes), this puffer tote bag, and my Tumi carry-on luggage.

This is one of those travel outfits youll reach for again and again. This Vuori crewneck sweatshirt and joggers (size S) are breathable, lightweight, and perfect for staying comfortable while still looking put-together. I've worn it on a 12+ hour travel day as well as while exploring NYC last month. Above I'm wearing these Adidas sneakers (as seen on my best travel shoes list) and packed using my Tumi luggage and travel backpack.

This is a great travel look if youre heading straight into your day after landing. An easy cap sleeve top, cuffed jeans, and Adidas sneakers is a comfortable and on-the-go everyday style. For my weekend trip, I used this carry-on luggage and a monogrammed puffer tote.

This classic travel outfit is equal parts polished and comfortable. Start with jeans and this no-iron button down shirt (size 0.5). The no-iron shirts truly do not wrinkle, making it perfect for traveling and still looking fresh. Add on a lightweight layer, like this cable-knit sweater and pink drivers for staying comfortable on the plane while still looking put-together on arrival. Just add this monogrammed tote bag as the perfect carry-on bag.

This is a great option if you prefer a more versatile, layered look. Its comfortable enough for travel but allows you to land and go straight to lunch without needing to change. Above I styled this yellow cardigan (similar options here and here) with a button down camp shirt, cuffed jeans, and raffia slide sandals. I traveled with this carry-on luggage and this duffle bag that doubles as a garment bag. And it's under $100!

You can never go wrong with a simple black dress for travel. Adding a denim jacket gives you an easy layer for the plane. It's the perfect lightweight throw on that you'll want to wear again on your trip. Style it with these ballet flats, also on my best travel shoes list, along with either a layered coin necklace or a chic neck scarf. For these travel days I used this carry-on luggage.

Happy Easter Weekend! Are you celebrating Good Friday? Today I want to switch it up and focus on home decor. Do you ever wonder if your house needs a little refresh? The answer is YES and this is the perfect time to focus on some spring home decor updates. I want to share a few home pieces and some tips on how to update your home. After all, your wardrobe isnt the only thing that needs to be updated each season. The boutique below has plenty of options for every home style at all different price points. Easy Home Decor Updates

The easiest way to update your home is with pops of color. Right now is a great time to add spring tones like blues, greens or yellows. You can do that with pillows, wall art, candles, you name it. My personal favorite way to add color is with pillows. This floral scalloped pillow is an easy way for you to add color, while this velvet edge pillow is an easy way to add subtle change to your home. You can also buy pillow covers instead of new pillows, like this fringe pillow cover. This is a great way to change up your home each season without having to buy new pillows. Throw blankets are another great way to add color and texture to your home for a little refresh without breaking the bank. You can also update your bedding with these border frame sheets to freshen up your space.

Simply changing items out can also make a big difference. Switch out the towels you use every day for some colorful or seasonal ones, like these floral hand towels. You can even swap your your towel holder for this gorgeous gold floral one. You can also add some new glasses or mugs to match your updated home decor. I love these pink tinted coupe glasses or this floral mug for spring and summer. These embroidered scallop napkins or this scalloped table runner are other chic additions to your tablescape. It's also an easy time to add a new table lamp or other light fixture in your home to really brighten up the place.

There are many simple decor pieces that can give your home a quick facelift. For one, you can change or add wall art. This framed floral art piece is an elegant way to bring spring into your spaces. Items that go on surfaces like a marble dish, colorful trays, or vases also work well. Also, never underestimate the power of adding fresh candles a new coffee table book, or picture frames to a fresh look for a new season. I also like to update storage spaces to be more decorative, like using this decorative box for small items or this scallop basket to store blankets and books.

Lastly, bring the outdoors in. Add a faux or real plant to make it feel more spring-like in your home. For something more permanent, add floral wall paper to an office or as a statement wall in your living space. We updated the wallpaper in our dining room last year and it totally transformed the room!

If youre looking for other ways to update your home for spring, consider these tips below. They are a little more costly and time-consuming but can really pack a punch.

Change up your outdoor entertainment seating and/or decor.
Upgrade the hardware on your cabinets
Upgrade other fixtures like lights
Increase curb appeal with landscaping
Update window treatments
Add new paint or wallpaper

I always say that its best to keep your house completely updated because you never know when you might want/need to sell it. Besides updating our dining room, we've also updated our pool and guest bedroom within the past few years. It makes a huge difference!

Black and White Pieces for Summer

Contrary to what many may think, black is not too dressy for daytime. They are perfect for luncheons, daytime events or an easy throw on for a cute work look. And it is definitely not boring! One dress I love is this black flutter sleeve dress. It is the perfect, effortless dress that is easy to dress up or down. Plus, it has pockets! It comes in six other gorgeous color options. I own it in both black and lilac. Another black dress I love is this black sleeveless dress. The collar and button up front give it a classy daytime look. A sleeveless, casual dress will never go out of style. Just pair it with a denim jacket or cardigan if you need an added layer. The dress also comes in white, navy and red. I wear a size S in both dresses.

You also need a great black and white top for summer. I love this flutter sleeve top because it is an elevated staple. Everyone needs this versatile top! Our Backyard & Pool Transformation with Frontgate

Recently I have been getting so many questions on my Instagram stories about my backyard! We updated and renovated our backyard four years ago, so I thought I would re-share all of the details before pool season is here! Some of these items are sold out, but most are still in stock. What was once an outdated pool with dated pool furniture (over 25 years old) became a relaxing oasis perfect for entertaining and summer enjoyment. Thanks to the design team at Frontgate, our dream of a resort-style backyard became a reality. They truly transformed and redefined the space. Let's take a closer look at all of the details, plus we'll dive deeper into the process. Also, be sure to read all the way through to see the details on our pool remodel and sources!

Our Backyard Transformation

Our backyard transformation became a reality thanks to the design team at Frontgate. I scheduled an appointment for their in-store shopping experience with design services at their Legacy West location. It was great because I had an opportunity to peruse the store and give them ideas as to what I liked so she got a feel for my specific taste. I had to submit the dimensions of my backyard as well as photos before the appointment so they would know what to work with. By the time we were done walking through the store, we sat down in their design service area and they had selections for me to choose from. After our meeting, we corresponded through email to solidify all final selections. It was the easiest way to do a patio renovation because they use a CAD drawing to space plan. In fact, everything I selected is interchangeable making it easy for me to rearrange my furniture based on our entertainment needs. All of the furniture was delivered right to my door and was so easy to assemble. I highly recommend this route for anyone looking to remodel. Book your appointment HERE.

As far as design went, I really wanted to use blue tones since our new pool tile is blue. I also think blue is relaxing and makes the backyard a true oasis. It is so nice to step outside and feel like you are on a vacation. As for the dining furniture, I really loved the natural teak material. For the poolside seating and lounge chairs, I stuck with outdoor wicker. I mixed two collections to achieve exactly what I wanted: Palermo and Cassara. All of the furniture is high-quality and so comfortable. Since setting up the furniture, we have had numerous storms and heavy rain and everything has held up beautifully. It is definitely worth the investment!

I really love how the layout/design of the patio renovation turned out. It's really all about the details. The dining space is perfect for alfresco dining. I especially love how they added a heating lamp for cooler nights which will allow us to sit outside in cooler temps. Plus, the rug really ties the whole area together. Another space where the outdoor rug ties the space together is the pool sitting area. It is the best space for a happy hour. The lanterns give the perfect ambience for late night entertaining with a poolside view.

The soleil chairs are another amazing addition to our outdoor area. They're perfect for getting your tan on while also staying cool in the water. For those wanting a pool break, the Palermo chaise lounge chairs are amazing. They are so comfortable and resort quality. I especially love how the design team added an umbrella table next to the outdoor wicker swivel chairs. This area is perfect for drinks poolside, reading or further seating when entertaining. The whole space really makes you feel like you are staying in a resort. It turned out exactly how we wanted thanks to the design team at Frontgate.

Of note, it was important to me to get furniture covers for all of our new furniture. Fortunately, Frontgate makes them and they are labeled. Come winter, we will simply cover all of our furniture and know it is is protected. Also, Pete put most of the furniture together and said that every piece is well-made with all parts included in the shipment. Nothing was ever missing. This speaks to Frontgate's shipping and delivery details.

Pool Remodel: We worked with Billy Fritz at Tile Concepts, Inc. to update our pool. We built our pool 26 years ago and felt it had lived its life. Our pool furniture was also 26 years old and although it held up well, I wanted something completely different. It was time for updated plaster, coping, tile and decking. Billy works directly with Giovanni Govea who does the decking. We selected Tile Concepts, Inc. because they only do remodels. They do not build new pools. The pool remodel work started in February and took about 4-5 weeks to complete. We are very happy with the results. Here are the exact materials and colors we selected for the remodel. 214-676-9668

Before Pool Remodel

We built this pool 26 years ago and it served us well. The main thing I wanted to update was the deck. Once I met with Billy at Tile Concepts, Inc., he encouraged me to fill in the hot tub since we never used it. That gave us the idea to have a much larger sundeck which would be much more functional.

After Pool Remodel

Removing the wrought iron fence really opened up the entire backyard. Once that was gone, I felt like the dark pool furniture that we originally purchased 26 years ago was too heavy of a look/feel for our new pool. We definitely got our use out of it.

I know that trying florals and patterns can be daunting. You may not know how to wear them, you may be worried about the print looking too busy, or you may have never worn them before. Whatever the reason, Im here to help. I've been in the same place before.

The easiest way to add florals and patterns is with a dress. This floral linen midi dress is gorgeous! It's perfect for a vacation or fast-approaching summertime events. If you prefer to have sleeves then this floral belted shirtdress is a great alternative. For a shorter dress, I love is this striped poplin dress. It's perfect for a spring daytime event. It's approaching springtime in New York City! Two weeks ago Pete and I spent a long weekend in NYC and were pleasantly surprised by the warm weather we received. We expected winter weather, but what we got was perfect spring days. Since I just went, I figured I would share a New York City packing list with you that is perfect for spring. These looks are also great pieces to have in your spring wardrobe.

We had so much fun on our 4 day/3 night trip. We specifically went because I wanted to see Jonathan Groff in Just In Time before he ends his run on March 29. Ther show is spectacular! Check out this Instagram post, it gives you a little mini travel guide with everything we did in the caption.

New York City Packing List

A monochromatic denim set is so chic for spring. Above I styled a denim vest top with these denim pants (size 4) and silver pumps. It was the perfect look to take me from exploring to an elevated lunch and everything in between. Check out another monochromatic denim look for spring here.

These khaki pants (size 4) were a best seller after I wore these on my trip. They are so comfortable and stayed looking fresh after a long day of walking. I styled them with this mock neck sweater tee (size S), a classic black cardigan, and these sneakers.

Another best seller from my trip was this puff sleeve shirt (size S). It's a unique twist on a classic style. I paired it with these denim trousers (size 27) and denim ballet flats.

For our main walking day, I wanted something more relaxed and cozy. I paired these sweatpants with this crewneck sweatshirt (both size S) for an elevated loungewear style. These leather sneakers I wore have been another best seller. I wore them on repeat and had no blisters or issues with comfort. Pete wore these brown leather sneakers and also had no issues with comfort!

I know it's time to start dressing for warmer weather, but this tie waist coat was essential for chilly evenings in New York. Plus, it's on major SALE! I recommend buying for next year. Of course I love the gorgeous shade of blue I have on, but it also comes in three other color choices.

This lace trim blouse (size S) is perfection for spring. I styled it with these white straight leg jeans (size 27), denim ballet flats, and this Dior handbag. I wore this for high tea at Tiffany's and it was perfect!

I styled this look for our trip home. If you have a later flight this is an easy style to wear for exploring prior to travel. I'm wearing these denim trousers (size 27), a black cardigan over a white tee, and sneakers. I wore all of these pieces in previous looks, so it just goes to show that packing mix and match pieces makes for an easier packing experience.

Good morning! I think it's safe to say we are officially into spring weather here in Dallas, so today I want to look at pieces that are must-haves for spring. These are the perfect styles and weight to take you to any event you have this spring. Even better is that these items are under $100!

I frequently get asked if black is acceptable for a spring/summer wedding. Yes, you can get away with it if it's a formal wedding, but I would recommend sticking with a dress that is a lighter color tone. If you want to wear something darker, then opt for navy before black. This is why I have a large selection of dresses that are more colorful and more appropriate for a spring wedding. One dress I have styled before that I recommend is this organza floral dress. The orange color works for year round!

If you prefer an elegant dress for your next formal event, then this silk halter maxi dress if for you. The cactus green color is perfect for spring, summer and even into fall. Founder Sue Sartor created this brand in order to design pieces that exemplify joy, optimism and femininity. It is a small batch boutique that uses handmade artisan textiles to create each piece. Every design you see is handcrafted and hand stamped in Jaipur, India for a gorgeous and unique print. These pieces inspire effortless beauty and whimsy to take you through all of life's journeys.

One dress that I am in love with for spring is this pink azalea maxi dress. The beautiful botanical design is gorgeous and makes you feel like a walking piece of art. Fresh Finds For March 2026

Happy M A R C H! I feel like I blinked and February was over. We are now in spring transition season (finally), which means light layers, bright colors, and updating your beauty regime. This fresh finds for March will give yourself the spring lift that you are looking for.

Beauty Pie is a brand that I have used for years. Their new products, this dry oil sugar body scrub, this check and neck lift serum spray, and this body moisture creme, I have been trying and loving. My skin has been looking firmer and brighter. Also, it's really helping keep my dry skin at bay.

A new brand I have just started using is Mutha. Their body scrub and body oil are fabulous. I love how their products are clean with a light scent and give you noticeably softer skin after just one use! I add the body oil to my daily body cream for super soft skin.

I started trying this Naked Lean Creatine and it is great! You can easily add it to a smoothie, yogurt, or coffee to improve your energy and workouts. It blends easily and has no flavor. Creatine is great for muscle recovery.I try to hide as many supplements as I can in one protein shake to get it all in.

The Best Swimsuits of 2026

Spring break is upon us, so it's time to get vacation ready and shop the best swimsuits of 2026. My go-to swimsuit style is typically a one-piece. You can never have too many of these, but it can be hard to find flattering styles. If you are more of a solid color gal, then this Hunza G swimsuit is for you. I love the beaded detailing, making it a classic style with a twist. I own this pink Hunza G swimsuit and it was worth it! I wear it every trip. This swimsuit is a similar style and fit but at a lower price point.

If you're looking for a little pizazz in your swim style, then you have to get this metallic one piece swimsuit. The gold shimmer will just radiate you under the sun! Lately, I have been using one layer of each polish when I get a mani/pedi at Sophia's Nail Salon on Lovers Lane. The Pink in Bio goes on top if you do this combo. Canyon Ranch Wellness Club

One of my favorite places to reset, recharge, and relax. It's definitely worth the short drive to Fort Worth. It's clean, modern and features all the latest modalities and testing. Typically, I will indulge in an 80 minute facial and 80 minute massage as well as use all the amenities like dry and steam saunas.

There are so many great spas in the DFW area. I also love to indulge at The Crescent Spa, The Spa at the Joule, The Ritz Carlton Spa Dallas and recently, I discovered the Ritz Carlton Las Colinas.

If you want a destination spa, I highly recommend Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, Texas. We've also visited Canyon Ranch in Arizona. Both are amazing and a great reset if you need one.

Sophia's Nail Salon

My go-to for my regular manis and pedis. I get regular polish but they also offer gel and dip polish. I book my manicure with Sophia and my pedicure with Michael. Honestly, the entire staff is great! I love how clean and calm the salon is. I use regular polish, however the salon offers gel and dip as well. Sophia's is located on Lovers Lane.

When it comes to skin health and advanced treatments, expertise matters! This practice offers it all. They are board certified dermatologist and have kept my skin in the best condition for over 30 years. I have had so many treatments and procedures done here including the deep TCA chemical peel, annual skin cancer checks (who remembers this cancer story), light chemical peel facials and all of my laser work. The one I get asked about the most is the Versa Pulse laser for brown spot removal.

I have trusted Dr. Lori Stetler with my skin for years. Since she is retiring in May 2026, I have migrated over to Dr. Jill Feetham. The entire practice provides excellent care! They are located on Preston Road.

My sugaring (it's like waxing but better for your skin) schedule is every 4-5 weeks. They also do a great spray tan (pictured above). I always get a spray tan a day or two before a trip.

Spring Capsule Collection

We all have our favorite items in our closet. The items that no matter what, we wear them again and again. These are the must-haves that help you build your wardrobe and create outfits. I have a fall capsule collection and then I also have a spring capsule collection. Since spring is quickly approaching, today Im sharing some of the must-haves you should have in your spring capsule wardrobe in order to make creating outfits even easier. I've even broken it down by category. For this capsule, I've been inspired by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's fashion when seeing ads for the new show, Love Story, based on her and JFK Jr.'s relationship. She always had chic, classic style that remains iconic. This years capsule blends these timeless neutrals with a soft touch of color for looks that are chic and timeless.

Tanya's SPRING Capsule Collection Suggestions

Tops

A strong spring wardrobe always begins with great tops. These are your layering heroes, outfit builders, and everyday essentials. Neutral tops will always be the backbone of a capsule wardrobe, but spring is a wonderful time to incorporate soft, wearable color. Shades like blush, powder blue, and soft pastels pair beautifully with classic whites, denim, and creams.

I recommend focusing on four core categories:

Tees
A great tee is still one of the hardest-working pieces in any closet. Look for quality fabrics, flattering cuts, and versatile colors. White, black, and navy remain foundational, while neutrals like ivory and buttercream will be popular this year. Just make sure you have the basic colors so that you can style them for those casual days.

Tanks & Camis
Perfect for layering or wearing on their own as temperatures rise. A sleek neutral tank under a blazer or lightweight jacket is one of my favorite elevated casual looks.

Button-Down Shirts
Forever a staple. Crisp cotton, linen, or silk button-downs instantly elevate denim, trousers, or skirts. I must have 10 white button-down shirts in various fabrics. I also like to incorporate other soft neutral button-downs for spring and summer.

Blouses
This is where personality comes in. Feminine details, draping, or tailoring add dimension to your wardrobe. A beautiful neutral blouse can easily transition from day to evening. I wouldnt say that theres one specific style you HAVE to have, but having at least one nice white blouse and black blouse is always great to be able to pull out of your closet when youre not sure what to wear.

Sweaters

Spring layering is key.

While heavy knits are stored away, lightweight sweaters remain essential especially for mornings, evenings, and overly air-conditioned spaces.

Styles I always rely on are lightweight crewnecks, soft v-neck, and classic cardigans. You can easily pull off a short sleeved cardigan in the spring.

Neutral tones like black, camel, and white are a must, but navy is particularly strong this season. A boucle or lady-style cardigan is another forever favorite since it's chic and always in style.

Jeans & Pants

Denim trends continue to evolve, but relaxed structure is the defining theme of 2026. In regards to jeans, make sure you have a pair of straight leg jeans in black, blue, and white. You will also see pastel jeans this year, so it could be fun to add a pair to your wardrobe.

Barrel jeans are still having their moment, but styling remains key. Keep proportions balanced and pair with clean, tailored pieces.

Everyday Comfort

Leggings and elevated joggers remain go-to casual staples. Stylish athleisure is here to stay. I especially love my SPANX wide leg pants or this similar set for under $60.

Tailored Trousers

Even if you dont work in a traditional office, a beautifully cut trouser is invaluable. If you do wear a lot of trousers, I suggest straight, cropped, and/or wide leg. Color options can include black, navy, white, and even a pastel shade of pink or blue.

Jackets & Outerwear

Spring outerwear is where spring outfits truly come to life.

Blazers
These remain one of the most important wardrobe staples. Blazers are structured, chic, and versatile. This season, I especially love introducing soft color into your capsule through tailored pieces. A blush or pastel blazer instantly freshens up denim, dresses, and neutrals.

Lightweight Trench
An eternal classic. Clean, neutral, and the perfect lightweight layer.

Denim Jacket
Perfect for casual layering and transitional dressing. This year, try for a different style jacket to change with the seasons.

Dresses

Spring dressing is one of my favorite parts of the season. It can be midi, maxi, and/or miniwhatever you like. I like to have a variety of pretty white dresses to wear throughout the spring and summer. But it can also be fun to add printed, colorful dresses. These should really show your style and who you are. Let your personality shine through!

Column silhouettes and softly belted styles are a style you will continue to see this year.

When shopping for these events, try to pick out classic, flattering styles in colors you know look good on you. Dresses that are timeless will serve you well. Will you be wearing this to work, to lunch with friends, to date night, all of the above? Answering this before purchasing will serve you well.

Shoes

Spring footwear remains classic with subtle trend refinements. I want to focus on pumps, sandals, and flats.

Pumps & Slingbacks
Still essential. Pointed toes continue to be a classic style. I also am loving a slingback. You can wear them with jeans, skirts, dresses everything. I have so many pairs in different colors and I love them all. If you havent already, you need to get black and nude pumps.

Sandals

Youll want to have nude or gold heeled sandals. These are good for spring, summer, and fall and can be worn with different outfits and for occasions. Then, youll need some casual sandals like slides, a pretty dressier pair, and a pair for the beach or pool.

Flats

Woven flats, mules, loafers, ballet flats and sneakers are all must-haves in your spring wardrobe.

Handbags

When youre buying a handbag, I think its important to invest in one you love and will carry every day. Neutral tones will always be the smartest foundation, but spring is the perfect season to introduce a statement bag. A blush or pastel handbag works beautifully with denim, whites, and neutrals while adding just the right amount of color.

Wardrobe staples include:

Totes for everyday use, running errands, etc.

Crossbody and/or shoulder bags. These are a must-have and very convenient if you need to be hands-free most of the time.

Clutches. Having a nice clutch for weddings or events is important. I also think its fun to have a cute one to take to lunch or on vacation. And speaking of vacation

Vacation-ready bag. Make sure you have a cute tote bag for the beach/pool and a fun bag to take to lunch or dinner while youre on vacation.

Accessories

Last but not least spring capsule collection accessories.

Belts
A beautiful neutral belt instantly pulls everything together. I love my black Hermes belt and it was an investment, but I wear it almost every day. Did you know that I can reverse it and the other side is brown? Just make sure you find one you can wear every day and feel comfortable in.

Sunglasses
Always transformative. A chic pair elevates even the simplest look. I invested piece in a pair of Celine sunglasses a few years ago, and I still love them. You can change out your sunglasses with whatever you're wearing to add chicness and/or sophistication.

Everyday Jewelry
Think timeless, wearable, elegant. Simple studs, delicate bracelets, classic watches. Julie Vos is one of my go-to jewelry brands for high-quality, unique, and timeless pieces.

How to Successfully Travel to London and Paris in One Week

Good morning! We have TRAVEL on the brain and this post is consistently one of our most searched topics. Laura did this trip with friends a few years ago but we are resharing it today because it has so many great travel tips. She's younger and travels faster than I do. My trips to London and Edinburgh as well as Paris are linked in this blog post as well. Winter in Europe is magical and typically less crowded.

Laura is taking over the blog to share her recent trip to Europe. She will share with you all the details of one week in London and Paris. One Week in London and Paris

Hi everyone, Laura here! Recently I went to London and Paris with a friend, and I'm excited to share with you all of the details. In addition to London and Paris, we took a day trip in each country. We fit this all into one week! Something to note is that we went in early February, so there are some activities that would maybe be more accessible if you go during another season. I'll go through the details day by day to make it as clear as possible. Leave a comment if you have any questions!

Day 1: Travel Day/London

To get to London, we took a non-stop American Airlines flight from DFW to Heathrow. The flight left Friday night at 8:30PM and arrived in London on Saturday at 11:30AM. Although I do not love red eye flights, this was actually the best way to do it. The flight went by really quickly and we actually arrived early. Then, we had half of a day to explore. Once we arrived, we took the Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station and then took a train to our hotel. In hindsight, it would have been cheaper for us to just take an Uber and definitely easier with all of our bags. Definitely do a price comparison before hopping on the Express train.

The first night we stayed at the Howard Winchester Hotel. This hotel is about a block away from Kings Cross Station, so it was super easy and accessible. The London tube system is a breeze to navigate, so we had no problem exploring the city. You'll find that many sites will recommend the Oyster Card, but that is not necessary. If you have a credit card with a tap option, you can use that each time you enter the tube. The only thing is that you have to tap in and tap out once again when you're exiting the station, so be sure you put your card in a safe spot.

After dropping off our bags, we headed right back out to explore the city. Tanya had suggested that we needed to keep moving when we got there to get some fresh air and fight off the jet lag. Neither of us had ever been to London, so it was a little bit of a 'storm the city' kind of day. We started out in the Waterloo area. Big Ben and Westminster Abbey are absolutely gorgeous and a must-see if you're a London first-timer. Afterwards, we headed to St. James Park, which has a direct path to Buckingham Palace and other great sights. It's the perfect place for a leisurely stroll with some beautiful views. Next, we got back on the tube and headed over to Borough Market for lunch. You can definitely explore this market for an entire afternoon. There are tons of amazing food options so it was difficult to decide on where to eat. We ended up having Indian food at Horn Ok Please and it was delicious! Borough Market is located near Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, so you can easily go there before or after the market.

Another place we went to that's worth visiting was Saint Dunstan in the East Church Garden. It's a beautiful outdoor space made out of the ruins of a church that makes for a quiet escape from the bustling city. It's a great place to take pictures or sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Another place definitely worth visiting is the Leadenhall Market. Oh my goodness, it is so beautiful! This is the market where some scenes from Harry Potter were filmed. We walked through it at night, so the lights made it truly magical. To finish off our evening, we stopped in at Tayer + Elementary, which was recently listed as number five on the World's Best Bars list. If you're able to get in quickly, then I think it is worth a visit. It has farm to cocktail type vibes and their drinks were smooth and fresh. It's located in Shoreditch, which is more of the artsy part of the city. Unfortunately, we did not have time to explore this part of town, but I've heard good things.

Day 2: Travel Day/Paris

The main reason we stayed at a hotel near King's Cross/St. Pancras Station on the first night is because we had booked Eurostar tickets to Paris on Sunday morning and did not want to lug our bags across town. Definitely recommend! The Chunnel from St. Pancras International Station to Paris Gare du Nord was about 2.5 hours. We left at about 10:30AM and arrived in Paris a little after 2PM (time change). It was super easy. Also I recommend booking at this time since check-in times are typically about 3PM. You can book a Chunnel ticket HERE. Book as far in advance as possible because you can get really good deals and it's way less hassle than flying. Be sure and note what time your ticket says to arrive. Sometimes it's 45 minutes and sometimes 90 minutes. It just depends on the time of day you are taking the train. We knew we would be using the Metro often while in Paris, so we bought a 3 day Metro ticket pass at a ticket kiosk in Paris Gare du Nord. Like London, the Paris stations are really easy to navigate. For our stay in Paris, we booked an Airbnb in Opera in the 2nd Arrondissement and it was a great, central location.

TIP: Something we learned prior to the trip is that many museums in Paris, like Musee d'Orsay, are free on the first Sunday of every month. A week before the trip tickets were already sold out, so book way in advance! We tried going, but they did not allow walk-ups.

Our next stop was to Carette for a late lunch and their famous hot chocolate. It was great on a winter day. The best part was that our route to the cafe was on the Metro 6. This train has the most beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower! If it's an option, then definitely take this train. We went to the Carette location closest to the Eiffel Tower, so afterwards we took pictures and had a leisurely stroll along the Seine River during sunset. It was exquisite. One of my favorite views was the Louvre after dark. The I.M. Pei Pyramid is gorgeous at night!

Day 3: Paris

We started the day by heading to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. We actually did not go there for shopping, but for the view! TIP: Get there right at the opening at 10AM and head to the terrace for a view of the Paris skyline with zero crowd. Enter through the "La Coupole" doors. Plus, it's free! We tried to get into the Opera Garnier, but it was under construction. Since Paris is hosting the 2024 Olympics, we found that there was a lot of construction and renovation going on. Just double check before going on your trip. One place that was not under construction and makes for a beautiful photo op is the Palais Royale. The black and white striped pillars are unique to this area. You'll see Tanya did this shot in her Paris post too.

Since it was a cold winter day, we headed to Bo & Mie to warm up with some amazing coffee and pastries. Their croissants were crisp on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. Yum! Afterwards, we went to Musee de l'Orangerie, located in the Jardin des Tuileries. This museum is a must! Claude Monet was commissioned to create a work inside the museum and it is breathtaking. The series of paintings were designed as a space for mediation, making it a quiet escape from the city. The location of Musee de l'Orangerie makes it perfect to stroll through the gardens before or after your visit.

This day we also strolled down Boulevard Saint Germain and ate at Cafe de Flore and then took a metro to see the Arc de Triomphe. Still have no clue how there are not hourly accidents on that roundabout! Thankfully, they have an underground passageway to get from the metro stop to the other side so we could walk down Champs-Élysées. This is another fun street to stroll down. A random find was the Boutiques Publicis drugstore. Yes, it is a random public drugstore. But inside was amazing! Tons of great gifts or souvenirs, a coffee bar, a restaurant and a Pierre Hermé macaron shop (which are the best macarons in my opinion). To finish out the day we ate at a restaurant across the street from the Moulin Rouge. This area of town actually has a lot of great restaurants, so it's worth checking out. Plus, you get to see the iconic theater.

Day 4: Reims

One of my favorite days on the trip! Champagne tasting in none other than Champagne, France. We booked a tour with Sparkling Tour and it was the best decision! They were wonderful to work with and made the day perfect. Plus the tour is at a great price point. To get to Reims from Paris, we booked a train through SNCF Connect from Paris Est to Reims. It is a direct train ride and only about 45 min. Because of the train strikes, we ended up leaving earlier than originally planned, but it made for a happy accident. To kill time before our tour began, we went to L'Ours Bleu for coffee and a pastry and this was the best croissant we had in France. A must if you are in Reims!

Sparkling Tour picks you up right from the Reims train station, making it super easy. Anna was our tour guide and she was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and fun to be around. She took us to three different champagne houses in the Épernay region as well as Why Not, a Michelin Star restaurant. We also toured Dom Perignon's grave site and the church where he attended. Did you know he was a monk? We learned so many interesting facts and tidbits about how they make champagne and its' history throughout the day. The tour lasted from 9:30AM until 6PM. There is a half day option as well. I recommend taking a later train so that you have time to explore the city of Reims. The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims is the largest in the country and absolutely gorgeous. Three of the stained glass windows were designed by Marc Chagall, so it's definitely worth visiting just to see that alone. STUNNING!

Once back in Paris, we went back over to the Eiffel Tower to see the light show. It runs at the top of each hour for five minutes. It is quite romantic and iconic and was a great way to finish off our time in Paris. We also had fresh crepes from a food stand. Très délicieux!

Day 5: London

We said au revoir to Paris and took the 7:40 AM Eurostar, which arrived back in London at 9AM. This leg of the trip we stayed at the London House Hotel in the Kensington/Notting Hill area. We loved staying here. It was a great location and the staff and accommodations were great. Also, there's this incredible bakery and coffee shop around the corner called Granier Bakery. Highly recommend. Everything is freshly baked and it was the best coffee we had the entire trip.

We started the day by going to Little Venice and had breakfast at the Waterside Cafe, a floating cafe. We then strolled down both Little Venice and Portobello Road for a relaxing and fun day. There are so many cute buildings and shops to explore. If you're in Notting Hill, definitely stop by Churchill Arms for a drink or lunch. It's a sight to see, plus they have amazing Thai food. For the second half of the day, we had reservations for high tea and tickets to the ballet. We went to Fortnum & Mason for a classic English high tea, followed by Sleeping Beauty at the Royal Opera House. Both were incredible! You need to make a reservation in advance at Fortnum & Mason and be sure and book your ballet tickets far in advance. The show was sold out and it was a Wednesday night! Since my friends and I grew up training at the same ballet studio, the ballet was a must-see for us.

Day 6: Bath Spa/Castle Combe

Another one of my favorite days! We took the 10:02 AM train from London Paddington and arrived in Bath Spa at 11:20 AM. Again, super easy and direct train. We booked this in advance through Trainline (I found this site to have the cheapest fares). Once in Bath, they had tour guides standing outside of the train station to pass out maps and give you helpful tips. It's a super walkable town and SO beautiful. Did you know they film parts of Bridgerton here? We started exploring the Georgian town by walking through Bath Abbey followed by a visit to the Roman Baths (hence where the name Bath comes from). This museum is well worth the price of admission! These baths have been well maintained since their origination over 2,000 years ago. They have a wonderful audio guide that takes you through many ancient artifacts. You even get the opportunity to drink the water like they did back in the day (very weird flavor...that's all I will say).

We also explored The Holburne Museum (Lady Danbury's house for Bridgerton fans), the Royal Crescent and The Circus (not to be confused with the three ring spectacle kind). There are tons of shops, restaurants, and museums in Bath, so you could easily spend a weekend there. One of the best places we ate on the entire trip was The Crystal Palace. It is a cute and cozy upscale pub with fresh and delicious food. I recommend the fish and chips!

Another area we really wanted to explore was Castle Combe, a village in the Cotswolds. The easiest way is to take a taxi from the Bath Spa train station. It's about a 20-30 min drive. Even if you have a rental car, it is not an easy drive unless you are an experienced UK driver. Once we got to Castle Combe, we spoke to the receptionist at The Manor House to book us a taxi back since they do not have a station.

Ok so this is the cutest and quaintest village! I think we saw 10 people total. It's the perfect day trip or romantic getaway. All of the original buildings are still there from the 1600's, making it feel like you've stepped back in time. If you've seen Steven Spielberg's War Horse then the village will look familiar to you ;)

Day 7: London

We started our final day by attending the Changing of the Guards ceremony at Buckingham Palace. A couple things to note - the signs say it begins at 11AM and lasts for 5 minutes. It started more like around 10:30 AM and lasted for about an hour! Luckily, we got there a little before 10:30 AM and got a spot at the gate. It is a neat ceremony to watch, but I wouldn't necessarily schedule your entire day around it. This day we also did some shopping and more exploring. Covenant Garden and Neal's Yard (hidden colorful street pictured above) are both great areas to check out. We finished out our time in London with a fun cocktail from Mr. Fogg's and a Sri Lankan inspired dinner at Hoppers in Soho. I recommend both!

The following day we took a direct American Airlines flight from London Heathrow at 12:10 PM and landed in Dallas at 4:30 PM. We took an Uber from our hotel to the airport not only to avoid hassle, but also because it was cheaper than the train. Definitely leave early when flying out of Heathrow. There is nothing quick about that airport!

There you have it! One week in London and Paris. In hindsight, I really would not have changed anything about this trip other than that it was too short! There were many more items on our list that we just did not get to, but the things we did do were all wonderful. If we had stayed longer, I would have stayed an extra day in Reims and an extra day in Bath Spa. I guess I will just have to go back soon!
